The Maulana is exhorting the Indian Muslims to unite with Muslims around the world and save the Caliphate. He begins by stating that all relationships in the world can break down, father can turn against son, brother against brother, mother can shun her child but the relationship of a Muslim with a Muslim can never be severed.

The Maulana then continues: if even a grain of the soul of Islam is still alive in its followers, then if a thorn enters the foot of a Turk on the field of battle, I swear by Allah that no Muslim of Hindustan is a Muslim until he feels that prick in his own heart. For the Millat of Islam is one body, and Muslims, wherever they are, are its limbs. If a finger of the hand is cut, the rest of the body cannot remain at peace until it has felt the blow. This is not rhetoric. It is the plain meaning of the well-known hadith which Imam Ahmad related: the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said that the likeness of the believers in their mutual love, mercy and compassion is that of one body: when one limb complains, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever. And there is the other hadith, related by Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari: The believer to the believer is like a building; each part supports the other. This is the first and last distinguishing mark of the people of Islam, to which the Qur’an itself has pointed.

Then, to reinforce Muslim unity, Maulana Azad provides his commentary after quoting the Quranic verse 48: 29.

The Messenger of Allah and those with him are severe against the Kafirs, merciful among themselves.

Whatever hardness they have is for falsehood and unbelief; whatever love and tenderness they have is for truth, sincerity, Islam and Tawhid. So be extremely hard against disbelievers but extremely sympathetic and kind among ourselves; take heed, then, and do not pass over this as if you had not heard it.

P.S. This is the second time I am enlightening you on your heroes and their lifelong sociopolitical stances. The first time was when you refused to believe that books were banned, editors sacked, films blocked, and Majrooh jailed, under Nehru's rule. This was Akku Yadav, an alleged gangster in Nagpur, accused of raping around 40 women. In 2004, around 200 women stormed a courtroom, reportedly stabbing him 70+ times and forcing chili powder into his throat.He allegedly bribed police to escape,until his victims took matters into their own hands.

The chilli powder was a nice touch. For context, Nagpur food is famous for being some of the spiciest in the country. So you best believe that chilli powder was borderline chemical warfare.

It was so hot that chopping off his dick was just mentioned as an aside.

Akku died 15 minutes later. Dickless and bloodless.

"Hundreds of women marched to the courthouse carrying vegetable knives and chili powder, walked into the courtroom and took seats near the front.

Akku walked in and was confident and unrepentant. At about 2:30 to 3:00 PM, when Akku appeared, he saw a woman he had raped. Akku mocked her, called her a prostitute and said he would rape her again.

The police laughed. The woman started hitting him on the head with her footwear. She told Akku either she would kill him or he would have to kill her saying, "We can't both live on this Earth together. It's you or me."

Akku was then lynched by the mob of 200-400 women who showed up. He was stabbed at least 70 times, and chili powder and stones were thrown in his face.

The chili powder was also thrown into the faces of police officers who guarded him. The police officers, overwhelmed and terrified, fled immediately. One of his alleged victims also hacked off his penis.

The lynching occurred in Nagpur District Court No. 7 on the marble floor of the courtroom. As he was being lynched, Akku was horrified and shouted: "Forgive me! I won't do it again!".

The women passed their knives around and kept stabbing him; each woman agreed to stab Akku at least once. His blood was on the floors and walls of the courtroom. Akku died 15 minutes later; he was 32 years old. The mob continued attacking his corpse post-mortem.

All the women returned to to tell their husbands and fathers they had killed Akku. They celebrated, and families put on music and danced in the streets. They bought food and handed out fruit to their friends. Five women were arrested immediately but released following demonstrations in the city. Every woman living in the locality claimed responsibility for the lynching.
