#Android For the past few weeks I have seen apps on Android updated to Android 16 and most of them have not gone edge to edge. Yet, on iOS I have seen apps updated to Liquid glass making the whole operating system look consistent. Disappointing to see.
@christ_2271@pixeluibygoogle This is unbelievable. Apps like ESPN, Lyft, Paramount, STARZ and Peacock updated to Android 16 and none of them are edge to edge but on IOS they are fine. Some apps tab area have a different color than the gesture area (Wonder app). Google don’t care about fixing this issue.
@LBPHeretic I hope Google doesn’t half bake the blur. This needs to be through out the Pixel UI. Even with Material 3 Expressive launching, I’m still seeing old UI elements. This is makes everything inconsistent.
#Android I’m all for new features but when are we going to focus on animations and cohesiveness. We need this. The Motion physics system
though the system, you stated. There needs to be a consistent flow. This what’s Android has to have the most.
@LBPHeretic Yup. This could have been left for Google IO. I miss the days where they actually talked about the under hood improvements that made Android run better. I’m not liking this new format at all. Even the developers part after didn’t provide anything.
@MishaalRahman Google said the same for edge to edge but there apps that updated to Android 16 with the black navigation bar. What going to change with Android 17 and developers finding a way around this?
@LBPHeretic Nice! This is the progress we need. Google needs to do better with the implementation. All I hear from devs is Google makes it hard to implement new features. For Android to move forward Google has to make these features better for devs to work with. Let’s keep speaking up.
@LBPHeretic I have the iPhone 13 Pro and I’m still on 18.6.2. I refuse to upgrade. I just need to get the battery replaced, I’m at 78% capacity and the phone lags all the time.
@MishaalRahman Can we at least get developers to enforce edge to edge when updating to Android 16? Each one is not following the mandate and finding work around.
@GreenShades9@LBPHeretic Exactly. Google Voice, Play Store, FitBit Ace. How hard is it for them to at least have the nav bar match the tab bar above it? The same apps on IOS don’t have this issue.
@GreenShades9@LBPHeretic The reason it bugs me is because this will continue to be a thing. Developers don’t take Android seriously already and this makes it worse. Google has made something mandatory and developers bypass it. They need to enforce it. This would make Android consistent.
@Android All these apps are updated to Android 16 and most of them are not going edge to edge. What is the purpose of making something mandatory if nothing is going to be enforced. Fix this Google or Android.
