I was asked recently what my hope for the future was.

I began by saying what my hope was not in-

My hope is not in politics.
They have their place, and every Christian should register and vote Biblically.

Nor is my hope in technology.
In many ways it has made our lives better, and in some other ways it has made our lives worse.
On one hand, we have never been more connected, but on the the other hand, we have never been more isolated. . . and lonely.

My hope is in Christ and it is in the Gospel He told us to preach.
I have seen thousands of lives changed over the last 50 years plus of my preaching ministry.

As long as the Lord gives me breath, I will keep preaching the Gospel.
It is our only hope.

BTW, we are having a celebration of 50 years of ministry this Sunday at all Harvest locations.
It will be our normal morning service times of 8:00 and 10:00 AM. We will also be having a special 5:00 PM service as well. Join us!

Author and pastor Greg Laurie says events in the Middle East lead him to believe that biblical prophecy is being “fulfilled before our very eyes” and that Christians must not only support Israel but pray for peace in the region.The pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship and one of the subjects of the hit movie Jesus Revolution, Laurie, said he believes events in Russia, Iran, and Israel all seem to allude to events predicted in Scripture.   

“This is the one book that dares to predict the future, not once, not twice, but hundreds of times with 100 percent accuracy. The Bible tells us in the last days, certain things are going to happen. And friends, we're seeing those things happen before our very eyes,” Laurie said in a new video posted on his social media accounts.   

The prophetic “time clock,” he said, began ticking in 1948 when the modern nation of Israel was formed.

“The Bible says that the Jewish people, who are God's chosen people, would be scattered to the four corners of the earth,” he said. “... The Bible said that that same group of people, Jews, who would be scattered would be regathered. And on May 14, 1948, Bible prophecy was fulfilled before our very eyes.”

Hatred of the Jewish people, Laurie said, is prominent around the world.  

“There was a march on the White House just the other day of 100,000 people chanting slogans like ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free.’ Understand what that means. What they're saying is that ‘We want a Palestine,’ if you will, that ‘has no Israel, that has no Jewish people.’ This is antisemitism at its very worst.”

Christians must stand for Israel, he added.

"We as Christians need to understand that the Bible tells us that the Jews are God's chosen people,” he said. “We as Christians need to understand that God gave the so-called land of Palestine, to the Jewish people, to Israel, which they have occupied in perpetuity for 3,000 years -- not always ruling it, but they've been there in that land that God gave them. And we need to understand that we should be praying for them because God gave us the Bible through the Jews. God gave us our Messiah, as a Jewish man. …”

Jesus said, “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” (John 15:7 NLT).

We like the second half of the verse about asking for anything we want. But let’s not forget the first half: “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you . . .”

If we’re doing that, then we’ll start asking for what is aligned with God’s will. And that’s what prayer is all about.

"Then Amalek came and fought against Israel at Rephidim.... Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel His people, how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.... Jethro rejoiced over all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, in delivering them from the hand of the Egyptians" (Exod 17:8; 18:1, 9).

We never thought we'd live to see the day when it would be dangerous to travel outside the country as a Jewish Israeli and most of our people are simply unaware of the spiritual (Satanic) component of Jew-hatred. But seeing angry protestors on the news ripping down posters of our precious loved ones and burning our flag, we are easily overwhelmed with a feeling of being totally unloved and completely on our own.

By allowing our thoughts to be consumed with the Amaleks of this world, we can easily forget the blessed Jethros, those godly Gentiles who stand with us in the good times as well as the bad, who rejoice with us in the good times, and mourn with us in the bad times. Although antisemitism is on the rise, Israel has also experienced an incredible outpouring of love from God's people since October 7th, expressed through prayers, generous donations, and boldness to stand against antisemitism in their own countries.

As grim as the world may look right now, dear brother and sister, do not give way to discouragement and fear. Do not allow your perception of the world be filtered through the images of violent mobs chanting "Death to the Jews!" Yes, antisemitism is a reality. But we must also remember: for every Amalek there is always a Jethro, who blesses the God of Israel and is always ready to stand with our people.
