On behalf of the Global South NGO Platform, I wish to convey our deepest appreciation to His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev and the Baku Initiative Group for their principled leadership and vision demonstrated during the founding conference of our platform.
Your Excellency, to stand firmly against all forms of colonialism and neocolonialism in today’s complex global environment is both courageous and inspirational. It is not an easy path to take, yet your words have reminded us that justice, dignity, and sovereignty must remain at the heart of our collective struggle. By declaring unequivocally that such practices are unacceptable, you have given renewed voice to the millions across the Global South who continue to suffer the consequences of historical and ongoing injustices.
We especially commend your unwavering commitment to the principles of non-interference, mutual respect, and recognition of the rich cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity of peoples. This diplomatic stance not only strengthens the bonds of trust among nations but also sets an example of how leadership can be exercised with wisdom, inclusivity, and foresight.
The emphasis you placed on interfaith, inter-civilizational, and intercultural dialogue speaks to the true spirit of global cooperation. In a world often divided by inequality and conflict, Azerbaijan’s leadership and the work of the Baku Initiative Group remind us that dialogue and solidarity remain our strongest tools to build peace and shared prosperity.
Your Excellency, the Global South NGO Platform applauds your vision for a new, just, and inclusive world order. 15 years ago, when we started building a partnership with Azerbaijan based on mutual respect and benefits, some European leaders mocked and lectured us. Today, those same leaders queue up in Baku to take photos with the President.

This cooperation has brought Hungary major results in energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and construction. @MOL_Group and MVM now own shares in Azerbaijan’s largest oil and gas fields, turning from simple buyers into energy producers on the international market.

Today in Budapest we held the 11th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation with Azerbaijan.
