There was a time in pre-Islamic society when daughters were treated with injustice. The Qur’an condemns this practice, and Islam completely transformed this reality by restoring dignity, mercy, and honor to women and girls.
The Prophet PBUH emphasized the immense reward of raising daughters. He said:
“Whoever is tested with daughters and treats them kindly, they will be a shield for him from the Fire.”

Also reported in Sahih Muslim
He PBUH also said:
“Whoever takes care of two daughters until they reach maturity, he and I will come on the Day of Resurrection like this,”
and he joined his fingers together.
- (Sahih Muslim Hadith 2631)
And in another narration:
“Whoever supports three daughters, remains patient with them, and treats them with kindness, they will be a protection for him from the Fire.”
- Musnad Ahmad (authentic according to scholars)
These authentic narrations demonstrate how Islam elevated the status of daughters transforming a society that once buried them into one that honors, protects and cherishes them.
