Justice Surya Kant while hearing a bail plea:

Counsel: this is a regular bail application. The petitioner has been in custody from May, 2024

Justice Kant: 20 times in your SLP you are writing consensual relationship. What is the consensual relationship in law? What is her age?

Counsel: She's a minor

Justice Kant: read a single line in your SLP that she is major according to you. You are admitting everywhere that she's 15 years old. 20 times you have written consensual relationship. We get mentally sick after reading. Every paragraph you have written consensual relationship. What do you mean by consensual relationship? You don't know the ABCD of law then why are you filing SLP?

Counsel: she's a minor, what has happened regarding the consent...

Justice Kant: are you the AoR who qualified the exam? Then something wrong in the committee we'll look into it.

Counsel: I apologise....

Justice Kant: how these people are qualifying? You don't know the basic law! 20 times, read your petition. "Consensual relationship". Tomorrow you will say this relationship has an 8 month old child!
