This is just the latest example of the United States providing more tangible proof that we have abandoned what used to be at least the aspiration to be a moral power.

We used to arrogantly consider ourselves the "indispensable nation" in the world, to keep other bad actors in check, to be that light on a hill, an example for others to follow. Now, we are using our great power, not to help, but to crush the weakest of the weak.

This effort to destroy tiny Cuba is immoral and should be beneath the dignity of the United States. Instead, it is cheered by the president and our Secretary of State. I grieve the loss of our humanity and the rise of our brutishness.

I fear this is a set up for central command to attempt an air assault seizure of KHARG Island. President Trump specifically said he destroyed the military targets, but not the oil infrastructure on the island. Looks to me like he’s trying to seize control of their oil.

There is zero chance that Iran will sit passively by and allow that to happen. This has very bad vibes to me, like we are sending a lot of people to die in a mission that likely gets that island torched. I see no possibility that Iran will allow a facility that process is 90% of their oil exports
to fall into our hands without destroying the whole thing.
