@ShawnaStaffReal We know it's not healthy when it's happening but we let things happen to us at least for once.
Why we do that 😅

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@eliana_jordan Honestly, I’m really struggling to stay focused on one idea. Any suggestion could you share that helps

At the very least, there should be an option to choose the payment currency.

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@AnthropicAI
Why do I have to pay more for the Max plan just to pay in local currency? As if being penalized for paying in local currency?
I paid in USD today and was charged ₹9,536. If I had paid in local currency, it would have cost ₹10,168.64 about ~$6.63 (6.22%) more.

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@harshini_sa I used to replace 2 to 3 keyboards a year 😅

Then someone recommended this one, totally worth it
I am using it for 3 plus years and still going strong, it has inbuilt battery that can be charge with type c and it auto save power when not using it

@AgenteNnx39550 @manojdotdev 4GB ram, seriously?

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@BuildWithxAI If you mean dowmtime due to hardware failures, they’re actually pretty rare. Data is what matters, so I run RAID 1 with two HDDs. If one drive fails, the other has an exact copy, so I will just replace the failed disk and rebuild the array.

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@BuildWithxAI Why would that be the case in near a metropolitan or even in a suburbs area?

I've been running my home server primarily for personal use for almost a year, and I've experienced at most one hour of downtime in total

Probably I have faced more downtime from claude than my server

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@BuildWithxAI The only real investment was around $1,000 for two CMR hard drives and a SSD. Everything else was built using hardware I already had.

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@BuildWithxAI For my personal apps, I run everything on a TrueNAS server at home, so my hosting cost is essentially $0.

For client-facing projects, I usually deploy them on my local server first. Once they're stable and ready for production, I migrate most of them to Supabase, vercel,appwrite

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@ShawnaStaffReal That's great, I also have similar structure

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@anulagarwal If you have a server, then selfhost Mattermost or Matrix (Synapse)

One job proposal cost me $42.60.

Seriously, Upwork was so much better before this boosted proposals nonsense.

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

They'll teach you how to land a $1 million job or project with AI, even though they've never landed one themselves or have any real experience doing it.

Voilà, they're millionaires now.

And that's how you become rich in 2026.

[Rahul Gupta @rahulgwebdev]

@eliana_jordan I’m 29, going through tough times mentally and physically, but I’ve always believed that giving up isn't an option I want to resort to.

Thanks for the encouragement, and thanks for sharing your story.

[Eliana @eliana_jordan]

If you're starting over, this is for you

I'm 35. I've restarted my life more times than most people dare to try once

New countries. New careers. New versions of myself. Each time scarier than the last. Each time worth it.

At 22 I moved to London alone not speaking the language. At 29 I was a diving instructor living my dream. At 30 a pandemic took everything overnight. At 31 I learned to code from scratch to build the company I couldn't stop thinking about. Be Underwater. Airbnb for scuba diving. I coded every night after 10-hour dive days in Palau while nobody knew we existed.

200+ dive centers later, I quit my job. All in.
Every single time it looked like things were falling apart, they were actually falling into place.

The only thing standing between you and the life you want isn't timing, age, or circumstances. It's believing you're capable of building it.

I'm Eliana. I just went all in on be underwater app full time and I'm building it in public, the wins, the slow months, all of it.
If you're scared, if it feels too late, you have at least one person in your corner. That's me.
