In 2013 BRICS, India was still finding its place.
In 2026, India is taking up the chairship and showing what the Global South can achieve through resilience, sustainability and innovation.
Meanwhile, Congress 🤡 is still asking, “What’s the benefit?” Same old story question India’s progress today, then claim credit for it tomorrow.
Seven years ago, on this day, Articles 370 and 35(A) became history, marking a decisive new chapter in the journey of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.
Since then, the lives of the people of J&K and Ladakh have witnessed wide-ranging transformation. Infrastructure has expanded, opportunities in areas such as education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and sports have grown. Be it the women or the marginalised communities, those who were denied their basic constitutional rights for decades have been empowered thanks to the full application of the Constitution of India.
5th August this year assumes even greater significance as this is the year our nation commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His lifelong commitment to national unity continues to inspire generations. What he envisioned decades ago found historic fulfilment on 5th August 2019.
We reaffirm our commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh and to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to dream big, achieve and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.

The AI revolution is here - bringing both threats and opportunities.
Our IT and services sector, a shining star of our economy, is at risk, and thousands of software engineers and professionals will lose their livelihoods if we do not prepare for the storm that is coming.
But we have opportunities too.
Data is the petrol which fuels the AI engine. As I said in parliament, India’s greatest asset is our brilliant people - and the enormous data we create.
In a few days, the government is hosting a grand AI Summit. It should have been an opportunity for India to assert leadership - to demonstrate how a country of 1.4 billion people can use our data to shape the global AI future ON OUR OWN TERMS.
Instead, a helpless PM Modi, has surrendered to the US ‘chokehold’ in the trade deal. Under the pretext of “clearing barriers to digital trade”, every move to use our data for our own benefit will be opposed.
Already, large foreign companies enjoy a near monopoly on our data through Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Youtube, Amazon, Android, etc. With this deal, India will struggle to:
• Safely store the data of 1.5 billion Indians in India
• Get transparency in their source codes and algorithms
• Tax the profits they make using our data
It’s a shame that our Prime Minister has been pressured to hand over India’s prime resource to a foreign power.
The #HornbillFestival in Nagaland has the potential to become one of the world’s most iconic cultural celebrations, attracting visitors from across the globe.
It truly deserves strong promotional support from the Tourism Ministry and from every one of us.
The 8.2% GDP growth in Q2 of 2025-26 is very encouraging. It reflects the impact of our pro-growth policies and reforms. It also reflects the hard work and enterprise of our people. Our government will continue to advance reforms and strengthen Ease of Living for every citizen.

🚨🇷🇺 'YOU CANNOT TALK TO INDIA OR CHINA LIKE THAT:' Putin on economic pressure against partners
"Attempting to weaken their leadership, built through difficult histories, is a mistake."
We shouldn’t overreact to Trump’s drama. Instead, use it to push Atma Nirbhar Bharat by firstly focusing on:
1. Quality school education for every child
2. Reliable & affordable healthcare for all
3. Clean drinking water in every home
4. Proper sanitation facilities
5. Decent road connectivity to every village
We’ve beaten hunger, but dignity demands more. Govt can’t do it alone- we all must contribute. 🇮🇳🙏
With China already beyond containment, the United States now views India’s rapid ascent as the last challenge to its global dominance — and in a shifting world order, Washington fears it may be too late to halt another emerging superpower.

I’ve been missing @imVkohli a few times during this series, but never as much as in this Test match. His grit and intensity, his inspirational presence in the field, not to mention his abundant batting skills, might have led to a different outcome. Is it too late to call him out of retirement? Virat, the nation needs you!

Shri Achal Jindal, Manager (T), NHAI PIU Shimla, was brutally assaulted by the Minister of Panchayati Raj, Himachal Pradesh Sh @anirudhsinghMLA , along with six others.
He sustained serious injuries, including multiple head wounds requiring stitches, and is currently hospitalized.
This is an appalling and unacceptable attack on a public servant discharging his official duties. We demand immediate and exemplary action against all those responsible for this heinous act.
Officer safety is non-negotiable. We stand united.
