📚✨Book News! ✨📚
The Sunday Book Bazaar: Daryaganj and the Making of a Reading Public in Delhi is now available on The Speaking Tiger website and for pre-orders on Amazon.
In bookstores on 25 June.
@swatiatrest Umm, right but the idea of a bodhrolok is very much oriented in caste . Class only aided in reproducing it under the guise of Bengal’s claim of castlessness; that’s what historical and sociological studies on caste in Bengal attest. Bhodrobitto is an apt term!
@swatiatrest Yes, like the Indian Middle Class, the Bhadrolok continues to remain a contested category. Sociologically, it is a caste marker that has now merged with class to reproduce caste as a capitalist group.
While June shouldn't be the only month you read queer lit, but if you've still not read UNFOLDING and many other fantastic books from this curated list by @mid_day Mumbai, you ABSOLUTELY must.

Going to blow my own trumpet a little: read my book. It is published in 2026. It has no AI usage whatsoever. Every word is mine and mine only. Thank you very much. #books#publishing#debutnovel#Unfolding
PS: I am surprised and disappointed in Olga T. among many other things :/
@thepandit03@CPIMWestBengal So has the Communist philosophy! You’re literally studying Political Science. It’s surprising of you to make such a comment, frankly. It smacks of historical ignorance.
Who would’ve thought that I’d speak about UNFOLDING on a podcast! I didn’t. I had such a fun time and spoke my mind in this.
