I think a lot of us are constantly looking for advice that will trigger some kind of anime style power up in our game play instead of accepting the fact we just to lab hit confirms for 20 minutes a day for two months.
Finally home from working Combo Breaker. Glad to be back after two weeks away.
Big congrats to the hard working people who make the event possible.
This is actually the first time I’ve ever gotten a picture with just Rick after years of working for him, and I wanted to take a moment to talk about him a bit, because we too often don’t give people their flowers until they’re gone.
I’ve been attending CB since its inception in 2015 (and UFGT since 2012). I’d always known of Rick, but never really interacted with him until 2019, when we got off to a rocky start. Even with that, he’s gone out of his way to offer me assistance, guidance, and wisdom throughout my journey.
He’s been a mentor, a friend, and even the creator of the best TNS shirt we’ve ever had (TNS Chicago iykyk).
Working for him has helped me become a better person and a better event organizer. He was the first person I called after my late wife passed, and he has been there for me countless times without fail whenever I needed someone to talk to.
He’s one of the few people I credit with giving me the opportunity and/or inspiration to pursue my passion in the FGC, and I definitely would not have made it this far without him.
Thank you @TheHadou
This is your last chance to sign up for #Evo2026!
Double check your registration and make sure you entered all the events you want to compete in this year.

The 0-2 player is the FGC’s greatest treasure. Their love is pure, existing simply for the game and the people around it. It is a love not influenced by sponsors, results, or status, but built on showing up and valuing the scene for what it is rather than what it gives back.
Walking around CB and still hearing people say shit like “xyz good player lost to a random”
90% of randoms are either hometown heroes or ranked monsters that shit isn’t what it used to be. Respect the grind man there are killers everywhere.
3-2 in Street Fighter. Not too bad for an off year.
Tournament stuff is done but I got a ton of casuals on today.
Meeting people and having a good time running sets is still my favorite part of all this. Looking forward to more games and lots of Top 8 tomorrow.
If you've ever wanted to tell someone directly how we should make Evo better I'll be at Combo Breaker all weekend.
Alternatively if you wanna run UNI2 or SF6 I'll be looking to do that too.
Hit me up. I look like this. Especially wanna talk to you if we've never met.
