When you join a music ensemble, you join a family. It doesn’t matter your age, your stage, your instrument, or where in the world you are, music ensembles provide an instant connection, an instant support mechanism, an instant musical family. Music families are special families.
🎹🎶 Occupational therapist Ruth noticed that Mark, who recently had a lifesaving lung transplant, was feeling a bit flat.
Mark loves to sing. Ruth loves the piano. And so this duet was formed earlier today. A supportive intervention, getting Mark back doing what he loves most💙
You never forget being in a music ensemble. The music. The goosebumps and tingles. The challenge. The connection. The friendships. The laughter. The joy. The rehearsals. The concerts. The bonding. The feeling of belonging. Music ensembles leave an indelible mark on our lives.
I feel so honoured to have been awarded an MBE for services to music. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me, I’m so grateful. I’m lucky to have had the opportunity to learn music but that shouldn’t be down to luck- everyone should have that chance. Thank you again🙏

The DfE want 7 year olds to remember everything they have been taught and how it links to previous learning or the school is failing, but no one in their department seems to be able to remember if they went to a party or not 🤔
