A temporary account and I’ll close it when I remember the password. Female - likes weather, rocks and trees, and K-drama. Can’t stand Trump loving RWNJs.
@OldSchoolAust@BenFordhamLive The rot started in BOM a decade ago under the Turnbull/Morrison governments who appointed a management team that would do their bidding - close weather stations, sack staff with expertise and employ consultants. Consultants blew the budget not the PS.
@BenFordhamLive Where were you when Rick Moreton (TSP) wrote article after article. starting in 2022, on the issues at BOM and their dodgy management? Massive funding cuts, loss of expertise, consultant blow outs, politicisation, all extending back to the Morrison/Turnbull governments.
@ElvisCostaLives@DavidPocock The mismanagement started in the late 2010s under Morrison. Cost cutting, closing weather stations, politicisation, blowing out the budget on consultants, and more. Labor did too little, too late. The CEO (2016-2025) now heads up the Gladstone Ports Corporation.
@LucyBennet10 BOM is a government agency overseen by the environment minister do mismanagement is a government responsibility. Labor inherited the mess and sat on their hands, but they have appointed a new CEO starting this month.
@LucyBennet10 BOM underwent significant funding cuts in the Morrison years. The closure of weather stations and the loss of meteorologists impacted the quality of forecasting. The new IT system. including the website, was handed to contractors resulting in a massive cost blowout.
@CampbellNewman Well a total of 39% is pathetic in my books. That won’t win government with your Neanderthal views.
I just came to twitter. I can’t even block fools like you.
@DavidCrisafulli Just a reminder it was the Morrison government that gutted BOM, sacked meteorologists, appointed know/nothing managers, and massively blew out the cost of the IT rollout by Deloitte.

@TrooperOz@DavidCrisafulli He is a temporary. He and the previous CEO have been floating around since the Morrison years and the new CEO, who actually might actually know something, arrives the month. There is speculation that the release was timed to hit before the arrival of the new CEO.
@MRobertsQLD Where were you when Morrison government bureaucrats were dismantling BOM? Oh that’s right - slagging off BOM meteorologists and accusing them of manipulating data.
And now Deloitte has blown the IT budget, stuffed the radar and made a shamble of the website, you want action.
@adonataccio@CampbellNewman@BOM_au No Morrison started all this. Rick Moreton TSP extensively covered the mismanagement of BOM instigated by the coalition. Nobody listened. Labor sat on their hands.
