i hope we realize that the main reason namjoon is targeted the most in hate trains against bts, especially because he is the leader, is the belief that if he takes damage, bts takes damage. since namjoon doesn't get affected, they try even harder. i think this is the main motive behind the hate trains directed at namjoon.
People are genuinely mad that BTS didn’t lose their fans, popularity, or relevance after their military service. If anything, they came back even stronger, more successful, and more powerful than before.
They were clearly expecting BTS to follow the same pattern they’ve seen with other groups, where a long hiatus eventually leads to fans losing interest, the hype dying down, and the group struggling to regain the same level of attention. They wanted BTS to fail musically, lose their audience, become irrelevant, and eventually abandon their fans altogether. Instead, BTS returned to an even bigger and more dedicated fanbase, with their popularity and influence still intact.
Now suddenly they don’t gaf about the military anymore. Suddenly it’s all about human rights, violations, politics, morals, or whatever new excuse they can find ok.
BTS's Arirang (아리랑) has now been streamed over 4.8B times on Spotify. It's their 1st album to reach this mark and leads the list of most-streamed albums of 2026.
“More importantly, why must Asian artists prove their Asianness, rather than simply being recognized as individual musicians, as Western artists often are?”
