@ItsMutai Looks like a floodplain which reduces risk of flooding in the area by slowing run-off & provides a natural storage for storm water. Redirecting the river will mean whatever will be put there risks being flooded unless alternative measures are provided. But why go against nature?
@DavidNdii Or rather focus on biogas energy. It not only provides cooking fuel and energy for productive uses as running factories, but conserves the environment, provides organic fertilisers, a waste management solution and has great potential in reducing our dependancy on imported fuels.
@IEAKwame What we need to do is to invest in medium and large scale biogas plants and the infrastructure needed to get pipped gas to urban dwellers houses. We can't entirely depend on imports to meet our basic needs nor should the process be a death sentence to our environment.
@MutemiWaKiama Biogas as a source of cooking fuel and electricity is our way out. We have the waste, the skill, the technology is there, @egertonunikenya has already carried out research on feedstock, once we understand it's potential as a country, nothing will stop the will of the people.

Akin to treating a patient in their absence, no knowledge of them, going by assumptions and only worsening their situation.
