txtcel now renders images from links with a thumbnail and a full-size preview.

The client re-encodes every image before display, stripping EXIF and whatever else is buried in the file.

About the storage layout

A channel on txtcel is three kinds of accounts.

The thread: one account holding the author key, the fee policy and the number of the last page.

The pages: markers, numbered 0, 1, 2...
A page stores no pointers.
Its address is derived from the channel key and its number, so there is nothing to follow and nothing to corrupt.

The messages: one account each, at an address derived from (channel, page, slot). 32 slots per page.

A reader doesn't walk a chain. It computes the addresses of a page's 32 slots and fetches them in one parallel batch.
Page 500 of a channel with 10,000 pages costs the same one derivation and one fetch as page 1.
Deleting a message empties its slot and refunds the rent to the author.
