باقی سب چیزیں اپنی جگہ مگر بہرحال شاہین شاہ کو سراہنا چاہیے۔
شاہین کو کل کھلایا گیا، اس پر شدید دباو تھا، دراصل اس کی سابق پرفارمنس کے بعد اسے ڈراپ کر دیا گیا تھا اور امکانات تھے کہ پورا ورلڈ کپ باہر بیٹھے گا۔
شاہین کو مگر اہم ترین میچ کھلایا گیا۔ اس نے دباو کے باوجود بہت اچھی باولنگ کی۔ پہلی گیند پر وکٹ لی اور سمجھداری سے لی۔ سالٹ ان سوئنگر توقع کر رہا تھا، شاہین نے گیند باہر نکالی اور وکٹ لے لی۔ پاور پلے کے پہلے تین اوورز میں صرف تیرہ رنز دے کر تین وکٹیں لینا غیر معمولی کارکردگی ہے۔ انگلینڈ دفاع کر رہا تھا۔ اس کے لئے پاور پلے اہم تھا، شاہین نے مگر اپنے حصے کا کام کر دیا، یہ تو ساتھ باولر پٹ گئے۔ پھر شاہین کو بہت لیٹ لایا گیا، تب تک میچ میں کچھ بچا ہی نہیں تھا۔ بروک نے ایک اچھا چھکا بھی لگایا، آخری گیند پر اچھا یارکر کرا کر شاہین نے اسے بولڈ کر دیا، اگرچہ تب تک میچ ختم ہی ہوگیا تھا، مگر آخری اوور تک جاتا ہی ناں اگر شاہین اپنی چوتھی وکٹ نہ لیتا۔
میں شاہین شاہ کا مداح بھی رہا ہوں اور ناقد بھی ہوں۔ اس کی باولنگ میں خرابی آئی اور انجریز کے بعد اس نے اپنے اوپر بہتر کام نہیں کیا، وہ جذباتی ہوجاتا ہے اور ایک چھکا کھانے کے بعد اندھا دھند گیندیں کرا کر مزید پٹتا ہے۔ اسے پہلے اوور میں وکٹ لینے کا بھی ایسا جوش ہے کہ وہ پچ کو پڑھے بغیر فل لینتھ گیندیں کرانے کی کوشش کرتا ہے مگر کئی بار ہارڈ لینتھ پر گیند زیادہ بہتر رہتی ہے ۔
بہرحال شاہین شاہ نے کل متاثر کیا۔ اس قدر دباو میں اتنی اچھی پرفارمنس دینا بہت مشکل ہے۔ جب آپ پر پرچی ہونے، اپنے سسر کی وجہ سے کھلائے جانے کے الزام لگ رہے ہوں تو پرفارم کر کے جواب دینا ہی سب سے اہم کام ہے، مگر سب سے مشکل بھی۔

شاہین شاہ آفریدی کو مگر اپنے اوپر کام کرنا چاہیے۔ ماڈرن کرکٹ میں مقابلہ بہت سخت ہے اور صرف پیسہ کمانے کے لئے اندھا دھند لیگز بھی نہیں کھیلنی چاہئیں۔ آف سیزن میں اپنے اوپر کام کیا جائے۔ اپنی سلو بال بہتر بنائے، یارکر پر کام کرے۔ اپنی فٹنیس بہتر کرے۔ اپنی بیٹنگ پر بھی کام کرے اور ہر گیند اندھا دھند لپیٹا مارنے کے بجائے آف سائیڈ پر بیٹنگ کرنا بھی سیکھے۔ وسیم اکرم بھی شروع میں ایسا تھا، مگر بعد میں اس نے ٹیسٹ میں بھی سنچریاں ، ڈبل سنچری بنائی ہے ۔آسٹریلیا میں بھی رنز کئے۔ شاہین شاہ بھی اپنی بیٹنگ میں بہتری لا سکتا ہے۔ اس کے لئے محنت کرنا پڑتی ہے۔اس پر فوکس کرے۔

حافظ حمد اللہ صاحب نے سوال اٹھایا ہے کہ پاکستان نے افغانستان کے خلاف تو حملہ کیا لیکن فتنہ الہندوستان کی کارروائیوں کے باوجود کبھی بھارت کے خلاف تو حملہ نہیں کیا.

It’s deeply concerning that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is least bothered of the incidents unfolding in the province, despite it being their responsibility to address such matters. From the reported kidnapping of the individual behind Aina Wazir’s video, to the brutal killing of Dr. Mewish, as well as the Karak ambulance incident and the Kohat police van attack...these events demand accountability and a firm response.

Pakistan’s Atomic Energy Commission has around 130,000 staff — physicists, engineers, chemists, nuclear specialists.
That’s a serious concentration of high-level talent in one place.

To put it in perspective: the entire country has roughly 220,000 doctors and nurses combined, and 2.6 million teachers but most of those are primary and secondary school level, not research-grade professionals.

PAEC covers a lot of ground: power generation, cancer treatment isotopes, agricultural research, and defence. It’s essentially one of the largest gatherings of advanced technical expertise in the country under a single roof.

The interesting bit is what this tells you about priorities.
When a government consistently funds and backs something over decades, talent follows.
The best minds go where the career paths, salaries, and resources are. PAEC built that ecosystem. Other sectors — healthcare, education, manufacturing — largely haven’t had the same sustained investment, so they struggle to attract and retain the same calibre of specialist.

It’s not a criticism, just an observation. You build what you fund.
Pakistan built nuclear capability.
The question worth asking is: what else could benefit from that same level of deliberate, long-term investment?

Just like the India game, Salman Agha poor with his captaincy. Their biggest winner Usman Tariq bowls the 8th over, picks a wicket and doesn’t concede runs, and Kaptaan Saab takes him off, and brings him on only after others conceded 36 off next 3 overs - virtually when the game was over. The current Indian team, however, seems to be high on the fact that they're playing for the richest board in the world.

12 سال گزر گئے اے پی ایس کے واقعے کو۔ 12 سال گزر گئے نیشنل ایکشن پلان کی تشکیل کو۔ مگر آج تک اس پلان کے صرف  ایک نکتے پر عمل کیا گیا۔ فوج نے دہشتگردوں کے خلاف جہاں جہاں موقع ملا کارروائی کی۔ جہاں دہشتگردوں کو دیکھا، جہنم واصل کیا۔ جہاں جہاں ممکن ہوا انٹیلی جنس بیسڈ آپریشن کیے۔ جہاں موقع ملا دہشتگردوں کے ٹھکانے تباہ کیے۔ پرامن پاکستان کے مقصد کے حصول کے لیے دلیر جوانوں کا خون بھی بہا، افسران نے شہادت کا رتبہ بھی پایا، مگر استقلال میں کوئی لغزش نہیں آئی۔

لیکن نیشنل ایکشن پلان کے باقی سارے نکات پر عمل تشنہ ہی رہا۔ نہ سیاست دانوں نے اپنا فرض نبھایا، نہ میڈیا نے ایک قومی بیانیہ تشکیل دیا، نہ نصاب میں تبدیلیاں ہوئیں، نہ مدارس کی رجسٹریشن ہوئی، نہ نفرت انگیز تقاریر سے جان چھٹ سکی، نہ بھتہ خور تنظیموں کے خلاف کوئی کارروائی ہوئی، نہ دہشتگردوں کی مالی معاونت کرنے والوں کو گرفتار کیا گیا، نہ دہشتگردی کے مقدموں کے فیصلوں کے لیے برق رفتار عدالتیں تشکیل پائیں،  نہ سیاست کے بہروپ میں چھپے مجرموں کی شناخت ہو سکی، نہ کراچی میں ٹارگٹڈ آپریشن ہوا، نہ بلوچستان میں ترقی کی کوششوں کو مہمیز ملی۔

اس قومی غفلت کا نتیجہ بے انتہا خسارہ خیز ثابت  ہوا۔ سیاست کے ایوانوں سے لے کر میڈیا کے اسٹوڈیوز تک دہشتگردوں کے سہولت کار موجود رہے۔ جن کے خلاف کارروائی کرنا تھی وہی مختلف شعبوں میں فیصلہ کن رہے۔ جن کے خلاف آپریشن کرنا تھا وہی آپریشن رکوانے پر قادر رہے۔ جن کے نظریات کے پرچار کی ممانعت کرنی تھی وہی حکومتوں میں وارد ہو گئے۔ وہی عوام کے نام نہاد نمائندے کہلانے لگے۔ یہاں تک ہوا کہ دہشتگردوں کے حامی مسیحا کے روپ میں سامنے آنے لگے۔ نفرتیں پھیلانے والوں کو اقتدار مل گیا اور وہ   اپنے مذموم مقاصد  کی تکمیل کے لیے کبھی  صوبائیت اور کبھی لسانیت کا نعرہ لگانے لگے۔

2008 میں بمبئی حملوں کے بعد بھارت نے بھی امریکی اخبارات پر رپورٹنگ پر وہی اعتراض کیا تھا جو آج پاکستان الجزیرہ کی رپورٹنگ پر کر رہا ہے۔ امریکی میڈیا بمبئی میں حملوں میں ملوث افراد کو gunmen یا attackers لکھتا تھا۔ بھارت نے اعتراض کیا تو امریکی میڈیا نے جواب دیا کہ وہ کسی کو دہشت گرد قرار دے کر پوزیشن نہیں لے سکتے۔ دنیا میں دہشتگردی کی کوئی متفقہ تعریف نہیں۔ عالمی میڈیا براہ راست کسی کو دہشتگرد نہیں لکھتا۔ البتہ الجزیرہ سمیت تمام عالمی اخبارات اس عمل کو دہشتگردی ضرور لکھتے ہیں۔ الجزیرہ کی پالیسی ہے کہ وہ جب حکام کے بیانات کو quote کرتا ہے تو اگر کسی نے کسی کو دہشتگرد قرار دیا ہو تو وہ اسی طرح لکھ دیتا ہے لیکن خود پوزیشن نہیں لیتا جو کہ ایک مناسب اور متوازن پالیسی ہے۔ اس پر پاکستانی اعتراض کی مجھے سمجھ نہیں آ رہی۔
یہی الجزیرہ کیا کل بھارت کے کہنے پر کشمیری حریت پسندوں کو دہشتگرد لکھنا شروع کر دے تو ہمیں قبول ہو گا؟
ہم خواہ مخواہ ایک بااثر عالمی ادارے کو اپنے خلاف کر رہے ہیں۔ یا تو ہمارے موقف کی کوئی جان ہوتی یا الجزیرہ نے کوئی غلط رپورٹنگ کی ہوتی تو ہم اس پر کوئی ٹھوس ردعمل دیتے تو مناسب تھا۔ محض اس بات پر کہ خود کش حملہ آور کو fighter کیوں لکھا اس کی نشریات پر پابندی میری سمجھ سے بالا تر ہے۔
یہ بات یاد رکھیں کہ کشمیر میں بھی ایسے مسلح گروہ بھارت کے خلاف سرگرم ہیں جن اقوام متحدہ کی لسٹ میں ہیں الجزیرہ کا ان کے لئے بھی وہی پیمانہ ہے۔
ہم نے الجزیرہ پر پابندی لگائی اس پابندی کا الجزیرہ کو کوئی فرق نہیں پڑے گا البتہ ہمیں کافی فرق پڑنا شروع ہو گیا ہے۔ ننگرہار میں بہسود کے مقام پر پاکستانی ہوئی حملے کے بعد الجزیرہ عربی نے وہاں عام شہریوں کی اموات کو بہت تفصیل سے اجاگر کیا ہے جس سے مسلم دنیا میں پاکستان کے بارے میں منفی تاثر پھیلے گا کہ وہ رمضان میں پڑوسی ملک کی عام آبادی پر حملے کر رہا ہے۔ہم اگر الجزیرہ سے بہتر تعلقات بنائیں تو افغانستان میں ان کے نمائندوں کو کہہ سکتے ہیں کہ پاکستان نے تو آٹھ مقامات پر حملے کئے افغان حکومت صرف بہسود کی بات کیوں کر رہی ہے آپ باقی مقامات پر بھی کیمرہ لے کر جائیں تاکہ پتہ چلے کہ ٹی ٹی پی کے کتنے ٹھکانوں پر حملے ہوئے۔
رہی یہ بات کہ کچھ دن پہلے بلوچستان پر ایک ٹاک شو میں پاکستان مخالف بیانئے کا ذکر تو اس میں الجزیرہ سے زیادہ قصور ان محترم پینلسٹ کا ہے جنہوں نے بلوچستان کے مسئلے پر گہرا مطالعہ کئے بغیر اس شو میں پاکستان کے موقف کو پیش کرنے کے لئے شرکت کی مگر اپنی تیاری نہ ہونے کے باعث ڈاکٹر عائشہ صدیقہ اور ثناءاللہ بلوچ کی باتوں کا معقول جواب نہ دے پائے۔ الجزیرہ نے متوازن پینل رکھا تھا۔
میری رائے میں ہمیں عالمی میڈیا کے ساتھ بنا کر رکھنا چاہیے نہ کہ بگاڑ کر۔ واللہ اعلم

If Pakistan are serious about this World Cup campaign, they need to think about giving Fakhar Zaman a go in the middle order.

He can sweep and use his feet against Rashid and Dawson to inflict some serious damage through the middle overs.

This was Nepals success formulae against Rashid and there are some key learning’s that the other teams can try to imbibe.

For PSX Investors

Over Iftar today, I met the who’s who of the stock market.
Here is my considered takeaway.

The market has risen 375%.
So far, it has corrected 12%.

From here, downside appears limited.
But the next bull run will take time.

We are likely entering a consolidation phase.
It may last a few months.

A sustained rally will need confidence.
That confidence must come from economic reforms.

The upcoming budget will be critical.
