@JPChinsolo Its the same reason why a lot of people dont buy an expensive toyota. Instead they buy luxury brands. Its not really only about money. I have a samsung phone, also have a Samsung washing machine. It just doesn’t work. Even for me, who really dont give a ahit about status.

@charmiekapoor Every brand can have software issue. My Samsung buds outlasted my AirPods Pro, but wearing them for 2 hours straight hurts my ear so bad, it takes time to recover. There is no perfect brand. You can try switching to other brands. But better dont expect much.

@jiya_3063 To me, they are staggeringly stable. Goes on and on for years, often a decade. Thats the biggest issue and makes it harder to justify new purchase. 🙂

@jiya_3063 Apple itself also use windows in their industrial complexes. Just many Microsoft developers use MacBooks for their work day to day. While cafes and youtubers make you believe media work is only done on macbooks, thats also vastly short sighted. These are just tools, for work.

@sant3834_kumar Just clean it once or twice a weak with lcd cleaner and microfibre and it will be like new. I have a 7 yo mbp and its like day 1.

@HonestDevIO @Samaytwt I do that but on my backend machine is a desktop. I use vs code to access my wsl in my desktop and tmux to handle training. Its really awesome.

@typesfast Its actually getting worse. Mac OS is more dumber than ever, windows is ad garbage, office products need phd on how to save fucking files. Because AI got better, not people. Shitty people are still shitty, including myself.

@Listless_Vessel @ProtonMail @valonsofr I agree that it doesnt have to be that way in an ideal world. But given the reality, I just choose convenience as I have to deal with many different platforms on a daily basis. Privacy is data, and if you dont share data, there is no internet.

@ProtonMail @valonsofr This is not a bad take. Its normal. There is no such thing called privacy in internet. Being a coder for 15 years, and being a phd researcher for past 7 yeare in CS, I have learned this much. Even dark webs business is selling privacy data, oposite of what it was designed for.
