[Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited @HPCL]

HPCL’s DPNG Drive 3.0 continues to promote the adoption of Domestic Piped Natural Gas (DPNG).

On 28 October 2026, Director-Marketing, along with MD-BGL, visited Aparna Towers, Hyderabad, where all 284 flats have transitioned to DPNG, officially making it an LPG-free society.

During the visit, residents were congratulated for embracing DPNG and setting an example for sustainable living. They also appreciated Bhagyanagar Gas Limited, an HPCL joint venture, for ensuring a smooth and efficient conversion.

This milestone reinforces HPCL’s commitment to supporting the Government of India’s vision of expanding PNG usage and advancing cleaner, safer and more convenient energy solutions.

I am writing to you with a heavy heart as the brother of Harshit Mishra, one of the two HPCL officers who was brutally murdered inside the company’s plant in Badaun (UP) this Thursday, 12/03/2026.
One of these officers, Harshit, was my elder brother.
My brother and his colleague, Sudhir Gupta, were dedicated professionals who served the nation's energy sector.
The oil industry has expanded into the remotest corners of the country, and it is often said that there is hardly a place where oil officers are not present, working tirelessly to serve the nation. However, today the issue is not just about service—it is about the journey of young engineering graduates from #NITs and #IITs who belong to middle-class families.
These officers sacrifice their childhood and youth preparing for the toughest engineering entrance exams. They work hard to excel in their institutions and strive again to secure top ranks in #GATE to enter the oil sector. When I look at the pictures of these two officers, I see years of dedication, struggle, and sacrifice that brought them to this stage—only for those efforts to be brought to an abrupt and tragic end.
This is not just a time to mourn; it is a time to demand justice, safety, and dignity for those who serve the nation in difficult conditions.

I earnestly request your support in:

• An immediate CBI Investigation: Only an independent central agency can bypass local political pressure and uncover the true conspiracy behind these killings.
• Accountability for Negligence: Strict action against the local administration and police officers who failed to provide security despite the known risks.

The entire fraternity and our grieving families look to your leadership to ensure that the sacrifice of these honest officers does not go in vain.

Deeply anguished by the tragic loss of two officers of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited in the unfortunate incident at the CBG Plant in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh.

This brutal act of violence deserves the strongest condemnation. The nation has lost two committed professionals who served with dedication and courage.

My heartfelt condolences to the families of Shri Sudhir Gupta and Shri Harshit Mishra. Their service and commitment will always be remembered. We stand firmly with their families and the entire HPCL fraternity in this moment of grief.

I have directed the concerned officials and requested the State Government of UP to ensure swift and strict action against those responsible. The Government of India stands firmly with the families of the departed officers and the HPCL fraternity during this difficult time.
