Below is the draft 14-point MOU of the US-Iran peace deal as circulating in the media. Except for the last two points, all others are heavily pro-Iran. So, on what grounds is Trump claiming victory?

1. The US and its allies will fund a $300 billion reconstruction package for Iran, an arrangement confirmed by JD Vance but denied by Trump following public outrage.

2. The US will remove all port blockades within 30 days.

3. Maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will resume, but "under Iranian control." (Note: This was a free international route before the war started).

4. The US is to lift sanctions on Iranian energy and oil exports that have been in place since 1996.

5. Overseas Iranian funds worth $24 billion must be unfrozen. Half of these frozen assets will be released immediately, and the rest during the transition.

6. The US will pull its forces back from areas surrounding Iran.

7. The US pledges absolute non-interference in Iran's internal affairs.

8. The US cannot deploy additional Middle East troops or impose new sanctions.

9. The scope of all future technical restrictions is strictly limited to the nuclear framework. Iran's ballistic missile programs and its regional alliances are explicitly left off the negotiating table.

10. An immediate halt will be called to all active military fronts, including the Israel-Lebanon conflict.

11. The final deal will be ratified via a UN Security Council resolution.

12. A two-month deadline is set to finalize nuclear disarmament terms.

13. Iran must formally restate and reaffirm its strict commitment to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, explicitly declaring that it does not seek to produce or possess nuclear weapons, something Iran had already pledged but is reportedly still doing secretly.

14. Iran will pause high-level enrichment, capping it at 3.67% under international inspections.
