Rajiv Mishra revealed that the selection committee was split into two clear groups. Three selectors strongly opposed Shubman Gill’s inclusion, while Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir backed him.

Mishra claimed he knew days in advance that these three would oppose certain names in the meeting, and that’s exactly what happened. With a 5-member panel, if 3 selectors refuse to sign, those players can’t be picked as per BCCI rules.
