The first Advance Drone Pilot Training Course for Infantry Non Commissioned Officers concluded at The Infantry School on 25 July 26.

The aim of the course was to impart advanced technical and tactical training in drone operations to selected Non-Commissioned Officers, enabling them to plan and execute independent and integrated drone missions on the battlefield.

Brig MI Khan,VSM, Commander ,
Weapons and Trials Wing delivered the closing address and felicitated the award winners. Nk Shubham Pathania of JAK RIF was adjudged the Best Student.

Against overwhelming odds, the Indian Army climbed, fought and reclaimed every objective.

#LestWeForgetIndia🇮🇳 The supreme sacrifice of Capt Batra while re-capturing Point 4875, #OnThisDay 07 July 1999, remains etched forever.

On 20 June 1999, Capt Batra, Commander Delta Company, was tasked to attack point 5140. With his company, Capt Batra skirted around the feature from the East and maintained surprise, reached within the assaulting distance.

The officer reorganized his column and motivated his men to physically assault the enemy positions. Leading his men from the front, the officer in a daredevil assault pounced on the enemy and killed four intruders in a hand-to-hand fight.

On 07 July 1999, in yet another operation in the area of Point 4875, the company of the officer was tasked to clear a narrow feature with sharp cuttings on either side and heavily fortified enemy defences that covered the only approach to it. To speed up the operation, Capt Batra decided to assault the enemy positions along a narrow ridge.

Leading the assault, he engaged the enemy in a fierce hand-to-hand fight and killed five enemy soldiers at point-blank range. In this action, Capt Batra sustained grievous injuries. Despite the serious injuries, he crawled towards the enemy and hurled grenades, clearing the position.

Leading from the front, he rallied his men. He pressed on the attack and achieved a near-impossible military task in the face of heavy enemy fire with utter disregard for his safety.

However, Capt Batra succumbed to his injuries. Inspired by this display of extraordinary junior leadership, the troops fell upon the enemy with vengeance and annihilated them, finally capturing Point 4875.

For his extraordinary bravery and leadership, Captain Vikram Batra was awarded the #ParamVirChakra posthumously.🏵

During the Kargil War, Captain Vikram Batra led his company in the successful capture of Point 5140, where he displayed exceptional courage by neutralising four enemy soldiers in hand-to-hand combat.

In the subsequent assault on Point 4875, he led from the front despite intense enemy fire, eliminated five enemy soldiers at point-blank range and continued to inspire his troops even after sustaining grievous injuries, leading to the capture of the objective.

For his most conspicuous bravery, indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, #PVC.

During the Kargil War, Rifleman Sanjay Kumar of 13 Jammu & Kashmir Rifles, was part of the attacking column tasked to capture Flat Top of Point 4875. He was the scout leading the assault, displaying exceptional courage, he charged through intense enemy fire and in fierce hand-to-hand combat, eliminated several enemy soldiers, paving the way for the objective's capture.

For his extraordinary gallantry, he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, #PVC.
