Oh yeah, forgot to say, the pics above are from a Unity MR demo I made that put an identity orientation box on each controller. It points along the controller's local z axis.

It would be nice if Meta acknowledged they changed the identity orientation of Touch controllers for the Quest 3.
The forward direction of Touch Plus is down and away (to the left of left controller, right of right controller) compared to all previous controllers.

We've been complaining about the alignment change for 11 months on the Meta VR forums. After 5 months Support told us that the dev team said to get our headsets replaced.

Apparently the Quest Pro controllers are the same off alignment. But I don't have them to test.

Oh fun, having to heat up my @menulog order because it's cold. The driver delivered the wrong order to me, then returned 20min later and wanted to swap. I'd already gotten a refund and started eating.

Now I have the right order but have to air fry it back to edible.

@reduzio Looking at their examples... rotating a sofa 360 degrees on click involves 11 nodes and manually entering 9 quaternions.

Over the last few years I've mentioned problems I've had with my displays rebooting during games.

I may have fixed it. I did a firmware update on my xbox controller.

Yes, this is apparently a known thing. Xbox series x controllers can crash the desktop window manager.

@matiasgoldberg Sounds like the fun I've had recently on windows with input.
Raw Input: precision track pads send wm_input packets with a null hdevice by design, so I can't compare to enumerated devices.
GameInput: every damn thing I try to read is null (names, button and axis info, etc).

Why do "precision touch pads" always have a null for the hDevice when doing mouse Raw Input in windows?
The docs explicitly say they will be null.

My wacom Intuos sends a null hDevice for mouse events from the pen but a valid hDevice for mouse events from touch.

On April 30, Meta is killing off support for new Quest 1 games.
No Quest 1 only games will be allowed. Games that support all Quests will have Quest 1 support blocked. All games released after April 30 won't be available to see or buy for Quest 1 owners.

Yay, both the magpie and its mother came back and weren't scared of me. Plus its standing on both feet now.
Still stuff on its foot, but I don't think I can catch it twice. At least we got the toes separated.

An hour ago I had to catch a young magpie (just with my hands). For a week its had wiry hair like stuff wrapped around its foot and it can only stand on one leg.
Wrapped in a towel and held by my housemate, I was able to cut most of the crap off, lettings its toes separate again.

Damn it @ubereats, when the order page says the restaurant is 1.8km away (and I've ordered from them many times) don't redirect my order to a branch 10km away without warning me first! I wouldn't have ordered if I knew you were going to do that.

Is v63 having issues with older titles? Which Oculus SDK did Valve use to last build SteamVR? (When you have a Rift or Quest, SteamVR itself actually runs as a Rift game and acts as a go between to the Oculus runtime for the game).

I've heard people say the v63 update to the Oculus desktop app is breaking SteamVR.

I tried HalfLife Alyx with Airlink and my Quest 3. It ran badly, then dropped to less than 1fps.

I tried Euro Truck Sim 2 with my Rift-S. In Oculus mode I couldn't even get a display. In OpenVR mode it wasn't great performance, and every 2min or so the headset turned off and I had to alt-tab out and back.

I was able to play Arizona Sunshine 2 just fine though.
