Around 4,500 of Kolkata's iconic 7,000-strong fleet of yellow ambassador taxis are being scrapped because they have exceeded their 15-year service limit.

The yellow cabs have a deep-rooted history in Kolkata, with their origins dating back to 1908 when the first taxis were introduced at modest fares of just 8 annas/mile.

You’ve probably seen that viral image floating around the internet: a zebra cart trotting through the streets of Calcutta in the 1930s. But the real story of taming zebras? It was a global obsession, and it’s wilder than you think! Thread 1/18

Parents should never put their daughters in a position where any random person can come and reject them based on their complexion, weight, facial features, height, level of ambition, etc. Why would you want someone to have tea with you and count your child's 'flaws'??

I am calling for an end to airlines and makers of boxed food who serve two pieces of bread stuffed with cheese and coleslaw (veg sandwich) in the name of breakfast.

This is India not the West. We have amazing breakfast food from across the country - parantha, idlis, dhoklas, and countless others - that are healthy, tasty, affordable and have shelf life. Our moms make amazing takeaway parantha rolls with leftover sabzis that taste fab.

Please be creative. Spare us the sandwich. We can do better.

My grandpa once told me "if you get on the wrong train, get off at the nearest station, the longer it takes you to get off, the more expensive the return trip will be."
He wasn’t talking about trains.

@myspinny @SpinnyCare the RC transfer is complete. Thank you. Credits to Divyanshu for seeing it through to the end.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@KolkataPolice @KPTrafficDept @myspinny @SpinnyCare @myspinny @SpinnyCare @KolkataPolice @KPTrafficDept On 21.06.24, Divyanshu from Spinny informed that the buyer had paid the fee for RC transfer and he will share the receipt with me today. Spinny has not shared the receipt/updated me on this yet.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@KolkataPolice @KPTrafficDept @myspinny @SpinnyCare my mother sold her car to Spinny on 15.08.2023. As per the contract, Spinny was to transfer RC within 180 days. Spinny confirmed last month that they sold the car to a third party dealer on 16.12.2023.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@KolkataPolice @KPTrafficDept @myspinny @SpinnyCare @KolkataPolice @KPTrafficDept @myspinny @SpinnyCare I informed Mr. Abir (phone No. 7044611869) who is in the sales team of Spinny, Kolkata, but he refused to help.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@SpinnyCare @myspinny @SpinnyCare I'd like you to update me on this.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@myspinny @SpinnyCare My mother sold a car to spinny on 15.08.2023. It's been more than 9 months. Requesting you to process the transfer of ownership with the RTO. Please check DM for details. Thanks.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@SpinnyCare @KolkataPolice @KPTrafficDept @myspinny @SpinnyCare this has been the general response from spinny for the past one month. Nobody calls, no detail of the sale to third party has yet been shared with me.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@myspinny @SpinnyCare @myspinny @SpinnyCare Would you care to give an update? 2 days ago your team said on DM that someone would call from spinny. None called as yet!

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

@myspinny @SpinnyCare It's going to 10 months since the vehicle was sold to spinny. You cannot keep me hanging like this. Transfer the RC. There's been no update from your end.

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

How long is this going to take? You cannot keep me hanging like this indefinitely!

[Rajnandini Das @RajoobalaPyari]

It's been 18 days since I raised the concern. Your team has not even bothered to take any steps for transferring the RC. It's been more than 9 months since the car was sold to spinny.
