Currently, my Aunties are still abducted. Family and lawyers have received no update on how they are, nor why they are incarcerated. Concerning my father, there is complete silence.

My brother and I have had no contact with him for more than six months. We do not even know the true state of his health.

Meanwhile, thousands of Pakistanis are peacefully taking to the streets to protest against his illegal and politically motivated imprisonment.

However, the people of Pakistan have not given up. No barricade, intimidation or repression can muzzle the people’s demand for justice and their democratic right to be heard.

There can be no lasting peace or stability while their democratic will is suppressed and their chosen leader remains behind bars.

Imran Khan’s cousin, Qasim Zaman, a completely non-political individual who has never made public statements or participated in politics, has now also been detained under the draconian MPO. Mass human rights violations continue as Pakistan continues its free fall into what they proudly call a “hard state.”And all of this is happening while UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres is visiting Pakistan.
Surely Imran Khan’s treatment and fundamental rights must be on the agenda, but so too must the detention and persecution of his family members, party leaders and workers.
Pakistan is not being “reset.” It is being dismantled.

Qasim Zaman is a pillar of quiet strength for Imran Khan Sahib and the entire family. He has never made a political statement. With Khan Sahib's sisters arrested without charge, it was Qasim who had stepped up to represent the family at Khan Sahib's court cases and outside Adiala prison on days provided by the law for meetings of the family. These meetings have not been allowed regularly for a year now. Qasim had arrived today to silently assert the right to meet with Imran Khan Sahib. The system of deceit and violence in place today cannot tolerate even quiet dignity. Much respect for Qasim Zaman.

Still no reason as to why they’re incarcerated. Please turn your attention towards Pakistan. It’s currently a state of chaos, with violent, vindictive criminals in charge.

They only fear foreign intervention. People within Pakistan are oppressed, if they speak out, they put their families in life threatening danger. @andyburnham @Ed_Miliband, I implore you to take a stand. Urge this establishment to listen to reason and free those unjustly incarcerated.
