He was not a “great economist.” Not a “gentleman.” A figurehead who ran the country into a wall while the family collected power and the country paid the bill.

- He was not a real economist. “Oxford economist” was branding. People still can’t point to a serious body of original papers that justify the halo.

- 1991 credit was stolen. Narasimha Rao opened the economy and pulled India out of bankruptcy. Singh administered what the IMF and the crisis already forced. Glorifying him instead of Rao is propaganda.

- Vajpayee handed him the 10th-largest economy. He handed Modi a fragile, scam-soaked, policy-paralysed mess. We joined fragile five group under him.

- India’s per-capita GDP versus China collapsed under him. That is the scoreboard, not the obituaries.

- He sat on finance bodies from the late 1960s. The 1973–74 compulsory deposit scheme was income tax stacked on income tax. Citizens paid. He kept the chair.

- He was ready to sign away Siachen. The Army put its foot down and said no. Sonia’s pressure was in the room. The Prime Minister was not.

- In critical meetings Sonia Gandhi sat in front. He sat behind. That is not leadership. That is a hired signature.

- “He made so much money and kept staying in the US. I cannot accept that he’s not corrupt.” Daughters’ money trails were part of the same charge.

- Low reported tax in earlier years was waved away. The lifestyle and the foreign stays were not.

- Policy paralysis, 2G, coal, Commonwealth, the government was a cash register with a mute Prime Minister attached.

- Under him India became the weak link of #BRICS , not a co-equal. Goldman and others in 2011–13 were openly asking if the “I” should become Indonesia.

- Per-capita GDP growth 2004–14: China +406%, Russia +243%, Brazil +233%, India +150%. Worst of the original four.

- India hosted the 2012 Delhi summit. The photo-op happened. The economy was already sliding into policy paralysis, high inflation, and the “Fragile Five.”

- Trade with China exploded on China’s terms. BRICS became a room where Beijing set the weight and Delhi smiled.

- He floated a BRICS bank in 2012. When the New Development Bank was actually signed in July 2014, headquarters went to Shanghai. India got the first rotating president. China got the building.

- He didn’t invent BRICS and he didn’t walk India out of it. He also didn’t use it. India sat in the club as the softest, slowest member while China used the platform.

So everyone who continues to praise him, Stop the saint act. Stop rewriting a weak, compromised decade as genius. He was nothing but a huge disappointment and a big failure for the nation.

The much-repeated “99%” figure is not an official NCRB estimate. It comes from an older media analysis based on NFHS-4 (2015–16) data and referred to sexual violence incidents. It did not establish separate under-reporting rates for rape, molestation and other sexual offences.

Instead of relying on misleading statistics, look at the legal and procedural reforms introduced by the Modi government to make reporting and prosecution easier:

Zero FIR: A victim can register an FIR at any police station, regardless of jurisdiction.

Online reporting: Certain incidents can be reported electronically without first visiting a police station.

Time-bound investigation: Under the new criminal laws, investigations into offences against women and children are required to be completed within two months of recording the information.

Faster trials: Charges are to be framed within 60 days, while judgments are to be pronounced within 45 days after completion of the trial.

Stronger evidence collection: Statements of rape victims are to be audio-video recorded, while forensic experts are required to visit and videograph crime scenes for offences punishable with 7 years or more.

Victim safeguards: Rape medical reports are required to reach investigators within seven days, and victims are entitled to receive updates on case progress within 90 days.

Facts matter. Serious issues like sexual violence deserve accurate data and responsible public discussion—not sensational claims built around a misleading statistic.

सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल जी की जब मृत्यु हुई तो एक घंटे बाद तत्कालीन-प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू ने एक घोषणा की।

- घोषणा के तुरन्त बाद उसी दिन एक आदेश जारी किया गया, उस आदेश के दो बिन्दु थे। पहला यह था, की सरदार पटेल को दी गयी सरकारी-कार को उसी वक्त वापिस लिया जाय, और दूसरा बिन्दु था की गृह मंत्रालय के वे सचिव/अधिकारी जो सरदार-पटेल के अन्तिम संस्कार में बम्बई जाना चाहते हैं, वो अपने खर्चे पर जायें।

लेकिन तत्कालीन गृह सचिव वी. पी मेनन ने प्रधानमंत्री नेहरु के इस पत्र का जिक्र ही अपनी अकस्मात बुलाई बैठक में नहीं किया और सभी अधिकारियों को बिना बताये अपने खर्चे पर बम्बई भेज दिया।

उसके बाद नेहरु ने कैबिनेट की तरफ से तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति श्री राजेन्द्र प्रसाद को सलाह भेजवाया की वे सरदार-पटेल के अंतिम-संस्कार में भाग न लें।

लेकिन राजेंद्र-प्रसाद ने कैबिनेट की सलाह को दरकिनार करते हुए अंतिम-संस्कार में जाने का निर्णय लिया।

लेकिन जब यह बात नेहरु को पता चली तो उन्होंने वहां पर सी. राजगोपालाचारी को भी भेज दिया और सरकारी स्मारक पत्र पढने के लिये राष्ट्रपति के बजाय उनको पत्र सौप दिया।

Really surprised that TTE or any railway staff have totally stopped checking tickets. Giving a free hand to ticketless travelers. Please care for us who pay and travel
