This picture has taken the internet by storm & stolen the hearts of many. A newborn elephant calf, merely 3-4 days old was getting swept away by strong river current of Teesta. These brave fishermen Bablu, Kedar Das, Gopal, Mithun & Biswanath risked their lives, chased the current for atleast 3 Kms and rescued the calf.

#Watch: Bengal fishermen’s daredevil rescue of an elephant calf.

Yesterday, a small calf was swept away by the Teesta River near Gajoldoba & found several kilometres downstream. Local fishermen rushed to rescue the calf & handed over the forest department. Later, the calf was reunited with the mother.

🚨 BIG UPDATE: METRO APPROVES NAME CHANGE OF STATIONS:

Kolkata Metro authorities (@metrorailwaykol) have accepted the proposal to rename metro stations after local areas only, rather than after prominent personalities.

Proposed Renaming List:
🔹 Mahanayak Uttam Kumar ➡️ Tollygunge
🔹 Netaji Bhavan ➡️ Bhowanipore
🔹 Satyajit Ray ➡️ Panchasayar
🔹 Kavi Sukanta ➡️ Kalikapur Bypass
🔹 Hemanta Mukhopadhyay ➡️ Passport Kendra (Ruby)
🔹 Barun Sengupta ➡️ Science City etc.

They will change the names of existing metro stations, along with some planned stations like Titumir, Swapno Bhor, etc., by the end of this year or early next year.
