been working on making the backend more robust! Recently added ,
email OTP-based login verification using Resend,
OTP generation and hashing using crypto module.
IP based rate limiting to protect API endpoints,
Login attempt limit and OTP expiration using Redis #NodeJS #Backend

Been working on the backend a lot lately 😭

Finally got concurrency, idempotency, payments, cancellations, refunds and booking expiry working.

@paschals_robert How would you approach handling refund retries if the gateway succeeds but server crashes before updating the DB?

@paschals_robert oh yes, that was tricky .so if expiry cancels a booking just as payment succeeds at the end point, my payment route rechecks the booking status before updating database and refunds the user, and record it as refunded and If the payment didn't go through, it marks it as failed.

Started building an event discovery & booking app where users can find and book events in their city, got the Events API working — create, search by city/category, update, and delete.
Stack: Node.js + Express + PostgreSQL
Also using parameterized queries for safer database works.
