@TheDoochMan 25 years ago on your show in Chicago, 2 yr old Fiona in my arms as I sang. You and I became friends. She’s joined us in the biz — here’s her latest song, written for her sib, lost to suicide 2 yrs ago. I hope it brings hope into your heart. https://t.co/607biNvNrs
My cup is half full… of light. It’s filled to the brim with possibilities. There’s a little coffee in there as well, of course.
Shadow and light; happiness and sorrow; grief and joy. Life is full of contrasts. Embrace them. May your day be full of experiences you savor.
Still life from a life in motion.
No matter the chaos, take time to love, to be loved, and to savor the experience of today. This moment is the only one we have — everything else will work itself out. You’ve got this.
We visited Jayme in August on their anniversary. As we gather today with family, I’m mindful of all those we’ve all lost, and thankful to be here celebrating life. I feel blessed to make music that I can share with all of you, and grateful for all the love that surrounds me.
Ganesh is the Hindu god of removing obstacles and the patron of learning. In my pantheistic philosophy I also like to think of him as rioitously dancing in celebration of life. May your day today be free of obstacles, full of wisdom, and bursting with joy.
Obstacles occur and tragedies happen, but they’re not personal and you can’t control them. What you can control is the most personal part of all — how you choose to experience them. Is your life a commute or an adventure? I’m choosing adventure. Bring on the obstacles!
There is no IRA or savings account for time. Life is sweet, but finite. We have now. Savor the moments you have while you’re in them, and choose to use your time for what makes you happiest. Your life is in your hands.
Are my positive posts are because I’m quietly struggling? Nope. I’m genuinely grateful to be alive for another amazing day. I mean, we’re all quietly struggling, but it’s nice to be reminded that we can savor every gnarly, knotty, imperfect moment. Carpe diem, my friends.
People debate whether the glass is half full or half empty. Why are they worrying about the glass, when most of the world is outside of it?
Live. Your. Life. All of it.
