Yoru is literally making themselves weaker by telling Asa to be selfish, which goes against their whole plan of a world war. But people are reading it only as “things you think are bad aren’t bad to bad people”
I think what Pochita means is that, If he didn't had none of the goods things like family, friends or a girlfriend, he wouldn't be suffering for losing them or wanting more and more good things for him.
For Pochita, Denji would be happier without anything.
