@michelletandler That would be good for the majority of the population. ๐คท It wouldn't effect me a lot either way, but something would have to be done about existing mortgages if you don't want serious blowback.
@HotSolanum@PlumedSerpent7@ArthurBoreman I'm not 100% in agreement with your thread, but it's a far better explanation of these things than I've seen so far. People mostly don't understand ethnicity, either it's formation or it's development.
Under ideal conditions in those climates you can maybe support 7 people per acre of crop ground, but you need another 5-10 acres to provide fertility for those crops. And thats before we get to fuel and fiber needs
I'll start by saying I like Smaje and his vision. But he's not being honest about the UK's ability to feed itself. There are ~70 million people in the UK and only ~15 million acres arable land.
If we're generous maybe double that via small growing plots on land not considered arable, but still possible to work with hand tools/very small equipment. Still not remotely enough.
@overlook_colony@TheLastFarm I don't expect to ever be making those decisions. I'm having a hard enough time trying to navigate this timeline without my family being on the receiving end.
@awarenesss@thomasschulzz Unlikely, but I suppose if the AI boosters/doomers are close to right I guess it could happen. I think they're wrong about how consciousness works though.
