One of the most satisfying moments of my banking career. ❤️

Some time ago, a rural customer visited our branch. He wasn't educated and initially refused to enrol in PMJJBY.

But people in rural areas place immense trust in bank employees. After I patiently explained the scheme to him, he finally agreed.

₹436 was debited as premium.

Unfortunately, he later passed away. 💔

His wife came to our branch only for a normal death claim settlement. She had no idea that her husband had enrolled in PMJJBY.

His account had barely ₹650 — and even that was a significant amount for the family.

She was uneducated, couldn't sign, knew nothing about documentation, and didn't even know how to obtain a death certificate. She had lost her husband and had two children to take care of.

We immediately started helping her. I explained the entire process, sent our sub-staff with her for assistance, completed the paperwork, and personally followed up on the claim.

Around 20 days later, ₹2,00,425 was credited to her account.

The happiness and relief on her face… I still can't explain it in words. ❤️

We couldn't bring her husband back.

But that ₹436 decision gave his family some financial support when they needed it the most.

That day, I genuinely felt proud that my job as a banker could make a difference in someone's life.

Sometimes, the greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that someone's life became a little better because of you. ❤️

Sivakasi manufactures 90% of India’s fireworks.

China accounts for 90% of global fireworks exports, with the city of Liuyang alone contributing 70%.

Tamil Nadu wants to bring Sivakasi on par with Liuyang.

The fireworks industry is highly labour-intensive. Sivakasi provides around 3 lakh direct jobs and 5 lakh indirect jobs -meaning this single industry in one city supports roughly 8 lakh families.

There are many challenges ahead. These include working with the Central Government on regulatory changes, completely overhauling safety measures, reclassifying the industry at both the state and central levels, and enabling large-scale exports.

In my view, all of this is achievable in the next 2 years if the state government initiates the process now.

Tamil Nadu has a strong track record of similar successes.

Once, the state had no presence in non-leather footwear. Today, it is emerging as a global hub for the sector.

In the last decade, when EV manufacturing was not even on the radar for most states, Tamil Nadu focused on this space early. Now, more than 50% of the country’s EV production happens in Tamil Nadu.

I shared an article two days ago on how Tamil Nadu is focusing on the high-paying, mass-employment opportunities in data annotation.

If Sivakasi can be made export-competitive and capture even a reasonable share from China, we are talking about millions of jobs in just one district.

I propose that IRCTC introduce the following:

- Do not allot the exact seat while booking (only show CNF or WL)
- Allot final seats 12 hours before chart is prepared and give priority for Senior Citizens & Ladies with Children.

In this way, algorithm can allocate lower berths for Seniors & can take latest data just before chart preparation. Seniors need not climb the top berths.

Hope this is considered. I request my audience to amplify this until some action is taken.
