ਇੱਤਫ਼ਾਕ ਨਾਲ਼ Bombay ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਆਦਮਪੁਰ Airport ਉੱਤਰੇ, ਸਾਡਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਲੁਟੇਰਾ ਕਲਾਂ (ਜਲੰਧਰ) ਓਥੋਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 11 km ਹੀ ਏ, ਸੋ ਨਾਨਕੇ ਘਰ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਸਬੱਬ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ.. ਉਹ ਗਲ਼ੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਖੇਡਦਿਆਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਹਾਰਮੋਨੀਅਮ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਨਾਲ਼ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣ ਗਈ ; ਇਹ ਰਾਬਤਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲ਼ੇ ਸ. ਲਖਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਕਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਹਿਮ ਰਹੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਮਾਈਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਠ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਣਾ ਕਿ “ਵਲੈਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੋਹਤਾ” ਆਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਏ😊! ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਾਇਰ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਆ ਗਏ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਓਸ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਈਏ.. ਤੇ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਐਸੇ ਸਰਮਾਏ ਹੀ ਹੌਲ਼ੀ-ਹੌਲ਼ੀ ਕਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਚਦੇ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਸਤਿੰਦਰ ਹੌਲ਼ੀ-ਹੌਲ਼ੀ ਸਰਤਾਜ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ !🤍😇🎼🙏🏻🤲🏽

A sudden Visit to My Maternal Village :

By coincidence, I landed directly at Adampur Airport from Bombay. Our maternal village, Luttera Kalan( Distt. Jalandhar) is just 11 km from there so it became a perfect reason to visit my uncles’ home. Those lanes where, while playing as a child, I first heard the sound of a harmonium & formed an eternal bond with music. I also got the chance to visit the home of the man who made that connection possible, S. Lakhvir Singh Ji. The most special part was visiting the village Gurdwara Sahib, where as a little boy I used to recite prayers on the mic & the whole village would come to know that “the grandson of Wilayatia (Nana ji)” had arrived😊Memories came flooding back of rolling tyres on the embankment & of so many friends whose names resurfaced as if we were reliving that time again. And it’s from such treasures of memories that words slowly took shape in my poetry & Satinder gradually became Sartaaj !🤍😇🎼🙏🏻🤲🏽
