Very happy to welcome Dr Ashok Kumar Lahiri ji, Vice Chairperson of NITI Aayog, to the KIIT & KISS campuses. He met my lovable KISSians, went around the campuses, saw our facilities, watched their cultural performances and encouraged them to do well in their studies and in sports.
He called our children the future of India and spoke of the part they can play in building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. I was especially happy to hear him praise their confidence. My sincere thanks to him for spending time with our children and wishing them well.

A proud day for India and for my lovable KIITians at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

My heartiest congratulations to all the medal winners, their coaches and support teams. With 54 KIIT student-athletes representing India at the Games, several more events are still to come.
A proud day for India with six gold medals at the Asian Games 2026! Heartfelt congratulations to our women’s hockey team on defeating China 1–0 to win gold after 44 years and qualify for Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
Special love and blessings to my lovable KISSian Sunelita Toppo, who scored twice each against Indonesia and Singapore. You have made our KIIT & KISS family proud.
My appreciation to Odisha for its continued support for hockey and to Shri Dilip Tirkey for inspiring young players. My good wishes to the entire team for the Olympics.
Heartiest congratulations to Team India on winning gold in men’s cricket at the Asian Games 2026! You have made the entire country proud. My best wishes to all the players, coaches and support staff for many more successes.
Happy to welcome another delegation of over 40 senior teachers from Bhutan to our KIIT & KISS family under the Cambridge Education Academic Immersion Programme. They are here for over a week. During their campus visits, they saw our facilities and learnt more about the education and care we provide to our students.
Over the years, several groups from Bhutan have spent time with us. It gives me much happiness to see this association continue. I am grateful to the Royal Government of Bhutan for their continued trust in KIIT & KISS. Each visit gives us an opportunity to learn from one another and strengthens the friendship between our people.
My good wishes to all our friends from Bhutan. I hope they feel at home with us and carry back useful experiences and happy memories of Odisha and our KIIT & KISS family.
5 more medals for India from our KIITians at the Asian Games in Japan today. I am so happy for them.
Vithya Ramraj won Bronze in the women’s 400m hurdles in 54.75 seconds. She had once equalled P. T. Usha’s national record; today, she broke it. What a moment for Vithya and for Indian athletics.
In the men’s javelin, Yashvir Singh won Silver with a personal best, and Rohit Yadav took Bronze. Murali Sreeshankar added a Silver in the men’s long jump. My congratulations to each of them.
With today’s two Silver and three Bronze medals, our KIITians have now won 16 medals for India at these Games. My best wishes to all our children still competing.
Heartiest congratulations to Mr Timur Turlov on being elected President of FIDE and to Mr Viswanathan Anand on continuing as Deputy President. It makes me especially happy to see Anand ji, who has made India proud for so many years, continue to serve chess in this way.
Mr Turlov has helped bring chess to thousands of schools, and Anand ji has long believed in what the game can offer children. This is close to my heart. Only last week, FIDE, KIIT and KISS signed an MoU to give more of our children the chance to learn chess.
I also want to thank Ms Dana Reizniece-Ozola. At the summit in Samarkand, attended by participants from over 120 FIDE member countries, she recalled her visit to KIIT and KISS. She shared how they stood out among the many places she has visited. I was touched that she remembered our children and spoke about her experience there.
My good wishes to Mr Turlov and Anand ji. I look forward to working with you both.
A Gold and two Bronze medals for India from our KIITians at the Asian Games in Japan today! I am so happy to see my lovable KIITians Kiran Pahal, M. R. Poovamma, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj win the women’s 4×400m relay in 3:29.69. It is India’s first and, so far, only Gold in athletics at these Games.
Dharmveer Choudhary, Jay Kumar and Vishal T. K. were part of India’s Bronze-winning men’s 4×400m relay team. Animesh Kujur, Harita Bhadra and Gurindervir Singh were part of the mixed 4×100m relay team that also won Bronze. My congratulations to every member of all three teams.
Of the 24 medals India has won in athletics so far, our KIITians have contributed to 19—one Gold, seven Silver and eleven Bronze. My best wishes to all our children still competing.
Very happy to share that KIIT has been placed in the 501–550 band of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, announced at the World Academic Summit in Cape Town. We are now 4th in India, up from 5th last year, and remain No. 1 in Eastern India among all private and government universities.
KIIT is only 29 years old as an institution, since 1997, and 22 years old as a Deemed to be University, since 2004. For a young university from Odisha, this position among 2,297 universities from 118 countries is a matter of pride for all of us. It reminds me that slow and steady wins the race.
I thank our teachers, researchers, staff, students and alumni for all the work they have put in over the years. This happiness belongs to every one of them.
Taking a little break with a cup of coffee.
Coffee came into my life much later. In my childhood, it was black tea, often with puffed rice, that helped us get through many difficult days. Life has changed, but those memories remain close to me.
Having known those hardships, it makes me very happy to see coffee helping families earn a better living. Our own Koraput coffee is a matter of pride for Odisha, and I am especially happy for our tribal brothers and sisters whose hard work is earning recognition.
On #InternationalCoffeeDay, my warm wishes to all coffee lovers. As we enjoy our cup, let us also thank the farmers who grow it and the people who prepare and serve it.
We at KIIT are proud to be ranked 501+ globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, securing the 4th position among government and private universities in India and 1st in Eastern India.
A recognition of our continued commitment to academic excellence, innovation and global impact.

My humble tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
Today, our students, faculty members and staff at KIIT & KISS came together to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti and pay their respects to Bapu.
His message of truth, non-violence and service remains close to my heart. I have always believed that if we can ease someone’s suffering, we should make every effort to do so.
Let us remember Bapu through our actions, by being honest, treating everyone with dignity and caring for those who need our support.
At KIIT, we believe great coaching shapes great players. Every session on our courts is a reminder that talent grows fastest under the right guidance.
Todd Clark's presence here reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing athletes through world-class training, mentorship and infrastructure built to help every player reach their full potential.
My heartfelt appreciation to Captain Smit Machchhar for his courage in helping save 174 lives on the flydubai flight. Despite his own serious injuries, he continued to protect others. He has made India proud. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health.
Blood donation is a noble act of giving. On #NationalVoluntaryBloodDonationDay, my warm wishes to all blood donors. Let us recognise their selfless service to humanity and encourage everyone who is eligible to come forward and donate blood.
We at KISS commemorated Gandhi Jayanti with moments of remembrance, reflection and togetherness.
Honouring Mahatma Gandhi and his enduring ideals of truth, non-violence, equality, peace and service, the celebration reminded us of the values that continue to inspire generations.
Here are glimpses from the observance at KISS.
