The era of press conferences and press releases is over in the era of direct communication and two-step communication.

To understand how much we knew about this back then, it's important to read an article called "The Bigger Tent" by Ann Cooper in the Columbia Journalism Review @CJR from September 2008.

So, it's really important to read research papers to learn more about these changes.
