Angel mom Jessica Gorman: "We’re in Chicago getting ready to claim my daughter’s body and the Mayor there is naming a truck ‘abolish ICE’, standing and laughing and joking while my daughter was just murdered there. Like, what?"
Cormac McCarthy got the idea for BLOOD MERIDIAN from this footnote in John Salmon Ford’s memoirs (first published in 1963). RIP Ford’s short note is the plot outline of McCarthy’s masterpiece.
Aika the polar bear greets a group of elementary school students in Norilsk, Russian SFSR, 1975.
Aika was an orphaned polar bear cub who became an unexpected local celebrity in Norilsk after being raised by Soviet filmmaker Yury Ledin. Born at the Mykolaiv Zoo in Soviet Ukraine, she was rejected by her mother soon after birth and taken into Ledin’s care while he was filming a documentary about polar bears. This 1975 photograph shows Aika calmly greeting a group of elementary schoolchildren during one of her supervised walks through the Arctic city.
Although Aika formed a close bond with the people who raised her, she remained a wild animal. Ledin later tried to reintroduce her to polar bears in the Franz Josef Land, but having been raised by humans, she was not accepted by the wild population. As she grew too large to remain in Norilsk, Aika was transferred to the Berlin Zoological Garden, where she tragically died about a year later after an accidental fall inside her enclosure.
Aika’s life remains one of the most extraordinary and well-documented examples of a close relationship between humans and a polar bear.
"CPS is staffed overwhelmingly by liberals, right?"
"Thats right Dave"
"And it takes more than a preponderance of evidence to initiate an investigation?"
"Yes Dave"
"And they STILL separated him from the kids?"
"Correct, Dave"
If an English guy says that Bangladesh has a culture of raping kids, he goes to jail. If a Bangladeshi guy says that Bangladesh has a culture of raping kids, he gets out of jail.
I don't know what broke in the matrix, but watching John Bolton not only plead guilty to a felony but the specific felony he spent decades depicting as the most egregious -- calling for life imprisonment or execution for it -- is a level of karmic justice I didn't know existed.
A two-year-old Alberta girl is dead.
Her family says a negligent doctor sent her home twice while she was getting worse.
But the African-trained 'doctor' did not magically appear in that clinic.
Some Canadian official certified him AFTER he had been suspended in South Africa.
Somebody looked at his history, his credentials, his file - and decided he was good enough to treat Canadian children.
Good enough for somebody else’s baby.
Now that baby is dead.
Name the person who signed off. Make them pay for their incompetence, sloth, negligence.
@Answers4Sean Dan Hartman is deep into this case.
This Canadian has had enough. How about you?
