Considering the United States went 18 for 18 on the kill in the tournament and 3 for 3 tonight, including a 1:33 5-on-3, think Bill Guerin and staff proved they knew what they were doing

🇫🇮 https://t.co/Oe9NHvetuF

Heartbreaking scenes from Sumy this morning as residents gathered for Palm Sunday only to be met by Russian missiles.

Horrific example of Russia intensifying attacks while Ukraine has accepted an unconditional ceasefire.

My thoughts are with the Ukrainian people today.

The Finnish Government has today taken two key decisions, reflecting the changes in our security environment.

First, Finland will raise its defence expenditure to 3% of GDP by 2029. This is a part of Finland’s contribution to Europe taking greater responsibility for our own defence.

Second, Finland will prepare for the withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention. The decision is based on a thorough assessment by the relevant ministries and the Defence Forces. Finland is committed to its international obligations on the responsible use of mines.

Finland will always remain a responsible actor in the world, safeguarding its security and defence.

Meanwhile in Russia: Vladimir Solovyov says that Trump gave Moscow an opportunity to prepare for a big war against Europe. Dmitry Drobnitsky points out that Trump's term is too short for Russia to carry out its plans, hoping that JD Vance will win in 2028.

When we arrived in Bucha just a day after it was liberated in April of 2022 this is what we found: 8 men executed in an alley with their hands tied behind their backs. Ukrainians have no other choice but to keep fighting because this is what will happen across the nation if they capitulate to Russia. If American abandons Ukraine it will soldier on because a ceasefire with Russia with no security guarantees is no ceasefire at all.

[Donald Tusk @donaldtusk]

If we, Europeans, fail to spend big on defence now, we will be forced to spend 10 times more if we don’t prevent a wider war. As the Polish PM I’m entitled to say it loud and clear, since Poland already spends almost 5% of its GDP on defence. And we will continue to do so.

For the NHL's lost generation of Olympians — guys like Steven Stamkos, Tyler Seguin, Taylor Hall, Ryan O'Reilly — the 4-Nations Faceoff is a cruel reminder of what could have been.

Ever since 1991 I've argued the most important country in Europe for Estonia is Poland.

Unlike the others, the only large country in Europe to understand the term "mass deportations".

And willing actually to fight for Europe.

Congratulations, Poland, on your independence day
