Hmmm. I wonder why a team would want to.... help.... a driver that was part of 2 constructors title campaigns..... I'm scratching my head about it....... must be misplaced sabotage and neglect of someone else.

🚨| Stella Confirms McLaren's Resource Shift to Piastri:

— McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has confirmed that the team is reallocating engineering resources to Oscar Piastri's car. This strategic move aims to address technical challenges and mirrors the approach used to enhance Lando Norris's performance in 2025. Speaking to media, Stella explained:

“We need to execute better and then at the same time we need to get more in tune between Oscar and the MCL40 because still Oscar is driving and thinking.”

— Stella emphasized that Piastri's struggles are not psychological but purely technical. He elaborated:

“I don't think it has anything to do with any psychological kind of opportunity. This is purely technical.”

— Stella expressed confidence in the team's ability to improve Piastri's performance, expecting a stronger showing in the latter part of the season:

“So I think the agenda is very clear as to what we have to improve and I expect, like I always say, that we will get on top of that and we will see a stronger Oscar in the final part.”

— The resource shift is part of a familiar strategy at McLaren, previously applied to Norris. Stella anticipates similar results for Piastri:

“Like I always say to Oscar, 'Let's do it with serenity.' We are deploying more and more resources to this, like we did last year with Lando, when Lando was struggling in the first part of the season. I'm expecting the very same results.”

— The gap between McLaren's drivers has become more pronounced, with Norris currently fourth in the standings with 186 points, while Piastri is seventh, trailing by 66 points.
