Got hit by layoffs today, most of RaD was hit. It's been incredible to work on so many amazing experiences with so many great people. That was the best team at the studio for sure. Culture, skill, and collaboration. I'll miss it.
The industry is fundamentally broken when a game that was on the platinum sales chart for 5 years in a row (and was still on the silver chart last year) can “fail to meet expectations.”

The original Tower has been repaired in its entirety in Destiny 2's final update. My little fanon larp is that all the ppl still playing D1 are up there right now, and that's why we can't get to it. Regardless, it's good to see they finally fixed it up, dude.
+1
Be loud, spam posts, throw around hashtags and whatever. Let the world know what you think is important or what you’re passionate about
But stop ripping each other apart
It’s OK to disagree on videogame stuff, but you don’t need to take it to a personal level
You’re bigger than that
There is no war but class war.
Pete Parsons would be thrilled that all of you are blaming each other instead of focusing on him and his generational mismanagement.
Marathon didn’t kill Destiny. The community didn’t kill Destiny. Management did.
"I want Marathon to fail so that Bungie will focus on Destiny."
This is a statement I can empathize with a bit as it's generally how I felt about Respawn with Apex & Titanfall. It's rooted in the fact that the developer behind your favorite game decided they want to make something else now and you don't like it!
Let's go down this path a little bit further though and consider the most probable outcome based on prior behavior if Marathon truly does fail.
When a Sony owned studio releases a game that is a commercial failure or they fail to pitch ideas Sony is interested in, they get shut down. They do not get increased funding or more tries with other ideas. We've already seen this twice in 2026 with Bluepoint & Dark Outlaw. In fact, over the past 14 years Sony has shut down 13 studios. There is little reason to believe Bungie would be treated any differently. So when Sony tells you who they are, listen.
If you truly want Bungie to even have a chance at making Destiny 3 we need to start with the entire studio not being liquidated by the end of the year.
Not liking Marathon is fine, it's a very different game! Rooting for its failure though? That's like stabbing your favorite author in the hand and then wondering why they never got to a sequel for your favorite book they wrote years ago.
I love marathon but the experience of bunny hopping on vandal to rubber band and overheat from a double jump because I’m no longer landing where I expected to feels genuinely awful I am begging for them to fix it
This is more of an issue late wipe since you get high ping lobbies more often, and I say it in the most constructive way possible, but Marathon has the worst netcode I've ever experienced in 15+ years of gaming and it's not close. Something NEEDS to be done soon.
1/4 Rise of Iron was the ultimate "scramble play" in Destiny's history. It only existed because D2 completely collapsed behind the scenes and was delayed at the absolute last minute.🧵
More than ever, we need your support, Guardians. Just sign the petition to save the game from the advancing forces of darkness! Eyes up Guardian💪

Once this D2 shit is said and done I really don't know how it's going to be possible to not be terrified as a Marathon fan either. I hate to come off as a SteamDB Fanatic™ but I can't see that game sustaining itself with ~5-10k people. Feels like it was made w/ D2 money in mind
As much as I want to say happy things.. be a happy person, and look forward to the future of Destiny. I can’t do that right now.
It’s hard to have a good outlook on destiny. Everything is obviously bleak. There’s no future. It really is the end of the franchise.
to the Destiny community: I hope you find your new passion, your new game. I hope you find that spark that destiny cannot fulfill anymore. I mean this to every single one of you.
to the devs (who had no control over the situation): I’m sorry things couldn’t go the way you planned. The way you wanted. I hope this doesn’t stop your creativity from shining.
I’m still in disbelief. I don’t think it’s genuinely hit me yet. This game was my entire world. It doesn’t feel right to be forced to say goodbye.
