@cubert9@ThunderChats because he hasn't been given much of a role. he's being used basically as a 6-3 wing. with increased role in limited capacity, he's shown to be capable. OKC has to pay him, even if he asks 30M.
@xTheAmbitions@ThePurpleWon brother, we're talking about the 15th spot in the line-up, which will likely be aaron wiggins'.
lu dort and isaiah joe are expected to be moved as well. so that's three spots potentially open, hopefully two of those are filled up by big wings like kobe sanders for example.
if russ was on the OKC roster, he'd get into carter bryant's face after bulldozing SGA. and chet will be hearing from him all series. our team was just too soft TBH. if we are able to open enough roster spots this summer, bringing russ back is more than just a sentimental move.
@JacobFi49037838 after all the barking the thunder did in post game interviews last year, they couldn’t bite back when it mattered. russ barks, he bites and never backs down form a challenge
@NetsDrip at 37 most guys are done. russ averaged 15 ppg at that age last season. we want him on our team for his leadership and toughness. anything else he provides outside of those two things is a bonus.
@JacobFi49037838 that’s basically what i wanted as well. i dont see him as a rotation player in OKC, but he could be an invaluable locker room presence and someone who will protect his teammates if they’re being bullied,
@Mellow_Fellow11 yes, OKC needs to clear some contracts so they could give cason the contract he wants. they'll probably have a first round rookie coming in. so potentially two roster spots left open for vets willing to accept a minimum contact.
@aluminumtadpole brother, 37 YO westbrook averaged 15+ points for your team last season. people should be laughing at you and the kings, not the other way around. 😂
@xTheAmbitions@ThePurpleWon brother, signing a guy who almost single-handedly addresses one of the team's biggest concerns isn't a waste of a roster spot. besides OKC can always continue their youth development program via their 2-way guys.
@ballknower300@adamSki_11 yes i was actually backing you up. OKC won't ever be down 30 because of russ. but the thunder won't be pushovers anymore either because russ would jump into court before anybody else once he sees one of his teammates getting bullied.
@BlackZed2013 and he's a dog. a real dog. he barks, and he bites. he will be our UD. come to think of it he could essentially be an assistant coach too. the more i think about it, the more i like it.
@fuukattino the most important thing he'll bring is toughness. he's a real dog. he barks, and more importantly, he bites too. you need someone like that in the locker room. no way carter bryant. castle and vasell can punk us again the way they did with SGA and chet in the WCF.
