It's correct to expect students to come on time etc. However, in a country like ours with poor to non-existent public transport, horrible traffic etc., some leeway must be provided for genuine cases. Let's not forget this re-exam is because of the Edu-min's failures.
A heartbreaking scene from Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. 💔 At the Girls' College Re-NEET examination centre, three students missed their chance to appear for the exam due to a slight delay, biometric issues, and an admit card mistake. Behind every aspirant stood parents carrying years of hopes, sacrifices, and dreams—making the moment even more emotional.

If I was India A coach or manager I would have left Vaibhav Suryavanshi out for this game v AFG. Only to let him know that’s it’s not OK to get physical on the field. Whatever the provocations.
I am seeing the likes of this fellow and a few others including a non-resident reagent, and a tipsy-topsy fellow constantly going after Annamalai - tells you, how jobless they generally are.

Indian billionaires are excellent at rent seeking, gate keeping, regulatory capture, labor arbitrage, mercantile trading and motivational speeches. Innovation etc. are out of syllabus.
Ok, but this is what he said ..."let the Valley spend billions on foundational models, we will build use cases on top" He definitely can't be leading this initiative...
Someone reported that a stray dog that sits in their building on Karve rd had fleas and hair loss and asked if I could come and check him out.
This is the face and goofy smile that greeted me when I landed up at the location mentioned on Google maps. Made my day! 😍
(As an aside, the people living in this simple, middle class apartment, and the owner of a laundry tapri in the premises look after 2 stray dogs, have got them vaccinated, sterilized and always get them treated by an NGO when they fall sick - such a contrast to the posh society in Madh Island, where a watchman was paid to beat up a gentle stray dog to death #Mikey )
Some Musings on Mysuru Samvada
As many of you may know, I was invited to participate in a conversation at Mysuru Samvada, an initiative jointly organized by SVYM and DVG Balaga, on June 7. As part of the event, my book *Chatuh Shloki #Manusmriti* was also formally released.
I would like to share a few reflections from this memorable programme.
At a time when meaningful in-person conversations—especially on subjects of social, cultural, and civilizational importance—are becoming increasingly rare, #Mysuru Samvada has come as a breath of fresh air. Whether by chance, providence, or divine play, I had the opportunity to participate in only the second session of the series, following its inaugural programme held in March.
The topic of discussion, "Dharma in Bharatiya Culture," is one that is particularly close to my heart. Over the years, I have come to the firm conviction that Dharma is the very foundation of Indian life, culture, and identity. There is little meaning in being Hindu—no uniqueness, no distinguishing feature in the designation itself—if Dharma is removed from the equation. Understanding Dharma and its contemporary relevance is therefore of paramount importance if we are to decolonize our minds and cultivate an authentic Dharma Drishti.
Coincidentally, our conversation began with this very question: What is Indic Drishti, and why is it important?
Over the next sixty minutes, we explored a range of themes, including the emic and etic approaches to understanding Hindu texts, the strengths and limitations of historicism, the Shastric definition of Dharma and its multidimensional implications, the place and relevance of Dharmashastras in contemporary life, and the relationship between Dharma, well-being, and sustainability.
The conversation concluded with me recounting my own journey of studying and writing about the Manusmriti, and explaining why, among the vast corpus of Hindu texts, I chose this particular work as the basis for a book on Dharma.
This was followed by the formal launch of *Chatuh Shloki Manusmriti* by Dr. V. Srinidhi, who had graciously travelled from Bengaluru to be the Special Invitee for the occasion. The launch was also graced by several distinguished personalities, including Dr. R. S. Nandakumar, renowned Carnatic musicologist, vocalist, and scholar of Srividya and Indology; Dr. M. R. Seetharam, Senior Orthopaedic Consultant and Advisor at Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement; and Sri Muralidhar Bhat, Chief of Administration, BSS Vidyodaya.
Following the book launch, Dr. V. Srinidhi delivered an insightful lecture on Dharma, offering practical perspectives on how Dharmic principles can be integrated into various dimensions of individual and collective life. One observation that particularly resonated with me was his remark that modernity and urbanization have already created a physical distance between human beings and nature, while emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence are increasingly creating a mental distance as well.
The programme concluded with an engaging interaction and question-and-answer session with the audience.
Overall, it was a deeply meaningful Samvada and provided me with an opportunity to contribute, in a small way, to the cause of Dharma Prachara through thoughtful dialogue and public engagement.
I am deeply grateful to my friends Ramesh Venkatraman (@rameshvenkatram) and Kanaka Raju ji for conceiving this excellent initiative, Mysuru Samvada, and for inviting me to be a part of it. I wish them every success as this platform continues to foster meaningful conversations on matters of culture, society, and civilization.
Many think, that one person is going to bring about the change & they rally behind him. Such an attitude and over dependence will make that person into a pide pipper who will take you for a royal ride into the abyss.
You should be the change, should not mortgage your intelligence to anyone. Have the courage to walk your talk, nobody is going to walk for you. No person has a magic wand. Be the change you wish to see.
Have a great time.
Aidos🙌
Hahahahah! Psephologist... indeed. His bias is so clear that only sold-out folks would fall for his utterances - BS would be a better description that BE.
Sunil Kanugolu & Annamalai are meeting now.
I am shocked that how @PMOIndia@HMOIndia@narendramodi@AmitShah
Couldn’t smell the meeting between @annamalai_k & Sunil Kanugolu to bring down MODI Government.
Annamalai is working against Modi along with Sunil Kanugolu for the last 3 years. Let the IB find out.
Sri Aurobindo wrote these eternal lines: "When therefore it is said that India shall rise, it is the Sanatana Dharma that shall rise. When it is said that India shall be great, it is the Sanatana Dharma that shall be great. When it is said that India shall expand and extend herself, it is the Sanatana Dharma that shall expand and extend itself over the world. It is for the dharma and by the dharma that India exists."
But what is this Dharma, which is Sanatana and which has enlivened this sacred geography of Bharata simce time immemorial? What is this Dharma which has existed the Core Foundation of Hindu life, culture and civilization itself?
How do we know if something is Dharma or not? What are the authentic sources to acquire authentic knowledge about Dharma?
How do we develop discernment or Vivekam needed to practice Dharma in everyday life?
What exactly is the role of Veda, Smritis, Itihasa-Puranas, etc. other Hindu texts in Hindu worldview?
Begin your journey today to discover answers to these and many more such foundational questions on Sanatana Dharma, especially its much ignored landscape of Dharmashastras with my book 'Chatuh Shloki #Manusmriti'.

Aloka, a rescued Indian street dog, walked 2,300 miles (3,700 km) across the United States alongside Buddhist monks during the historic "Walk for Peace." Over 108 days, he journeyed from Texas to Washington, D.C., touching countless hearts along the way. 🐾
Before that, Aloka had already spent nearly 100 days walking across India with the monks.
Today, #Aloka is back in #India.
If the world can celebrate one rescued Indian dog, surely we can do more to protect the millions of street dogs who still struggle for food, safety, medical care, and kindness every day.
Let's all make sure Aloka's street dog friends are safe too. ❤️🐕
