A lot of the people most vehemently opposed to abortion are men who will never be the primary caregivers affected by the outcome of that decision. Some struggle to be present for their able bodied children, but expect everyone to believe they’re deeply concerned about the lifelong care and support disabled children may require. I have to laugh.

Our language around governance is so interesting in Nigeria. We talk like when someone wins an election, the money and resources of the state become their personal largesse and any progress or work that happens is because they’re kind enough to “dash” us.
