A vehicle stop and search on the N2 road in Riviersonderend resulted in the discovery of drugs worth R11 million on Tuesday 25 August 2026.

The members were doing vehicle stop and searches at about 22:35. They stopped a black Nissan Tida and in the boot of the vehicle, police found 87 packets of mandrax tablets, 16 packets of uncut crystal meth, and two blocks of cocaine. A 37-year-old foreign national male was arrested for possession of drugs.

Once charged, he will make his first court appearance before the Caledon Magistrate’s Court.
