Roseate Spoonbills Provide a Peek at God’s Character
“Nature acts as a visible reflection of the invisible Creator, a mirror of sorts, showing us what he is like.”

It strikes me that a great many ills can be cured by walking through the shade of mighty trees on lanes filled with birdsong. I hope these precious places will always be there to provide quiet and calm in a loud world.

I am beyond delighted to see the bluebells and stitchwort blooming already; they seem so early this year, but so very welcome. I stayed out far too late in the woods yesterday, sharing the twilight with red deer and blackcaps, until the very last light of the evening sun shone upon these flowers, making them glow like tiny stars scattered under the trees.

Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Psalms 150:1-2
"Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden."

It's easy to pass them by, the tiny scenes that are so unassuming. A quick glance, maybe a half-smile, and we carry on, the bigger views calling. Yet when you really take the time to stop and notice and see, there's so much beauty in the little details. Maybe it's just a rickety gate in an old stone wall, the sun shining on brand new leaves and dewdrops sparkling in the grass, but there's light and promise and work and care in every element. These small moments often delay me, and I'm always very glad that they do.
