When a label lies, the consumer pays the price.
An expiry date is not just ink on a package.A nutrition label is not just information. They are promises made to the consumer.
When those promises are deliberately manipulated, it is not merely a violation of regulations, it is a breach of public trust.
Effective regulation is not about creating fear in the industry. It is about creating an ecosystem where honest businesses are protected, violations are detected, and citizens are not deceived

He looks fitter than he was a year ago. Has bowled nice and quick. Has 5 wickets in this game.
And look at those reflexes..
The guy should be back for the ODI World Cup. He still has plenty to offer, more so on those South African wickets.
Only if common sense prevails..
This is as quick as I have seen Shami bowl over spells in First-Class cricket since his return from the injury. Not thinking of one spell but over spells...
He doesn't give up.
I think if you pick a squad of players to go to a country, and then after two predictable defeats against a team who are better than you, you send seven players home and sack the coach, then you should resign
OMG, @Tukaram_IndIAS is getting wild day by day.
After food, now his eyes are on drugs.
Cipla Pharma drug sale licences for the Pune warehouse unit cancelled.
The way you are working, sir, you will get transferred very soon. Powerful are scared.
Serious irregularities found:
- Related to packaging and storage
- Multiple regulatory lapses in the company’s drug storage and distribution system
- Issues with the packaging of Reactin Plus Tablets
- Stock worth around ₹11+ lakh seized
- Discrepancies between purchase and sale records
- Medicines stored directly on the floor
Tukaram Mundhe said that any company that violates the rules will invite strict action as per law.
What a strong decision, sir. Just amazing. Other IAS officers who sit in AC offices and enjoy life should learn something from Tukaram Mundhe.
No one should be spared.
We have 5,000+ IAS officers in India. Just imagine if all of them started working like this.
Make him FSSAI CEO.
Make India safe.
@RShivshankar System so rotten that one guy doing his job properly will cause a stir in the entire structure. Everybody part of this chalta hai system which has taken indian public for a toss for decades would be out there to get him. All support to Tukaram Mundhe!!
This is precisely why public audits of schools should be facilitated and welcomed.
In a democracy, citizens have a right to monitor how public funds are spent and how the government is functioning.
- Every government school should publicly disclose on notice boards: details of expenditure on infrastructure; facilities available in the school; teacher vacancies; and info about mid-day meals.
- Guidelines for school audits must be urgently evolved to facilitate inspections.
Govt should use public scrutiny to address problems and fix accountability.
BIGGEST WIN FOR INDIA’S HEALTH REVOLUTION! 🇮🇳
Imagine picking up a Coca-Cola and seeing “HIGH SUGAR” clearly on the front.
Imagine picking up Lays and seeing “HIGH FAT” clearly on the front.
Imagine picking up Maggi and seeing “HIGH SALT” before you decide to buy them.
Now, you don’t need to imagine because FSSAI has proposed warning labels on Indian packaged foods. Companies will be asked to put a “high sugar”, “high salt”, “high fat” sign in a big red font in the front.
A massive thank you to all the doctors and public health experts who have fought for this reform, especially @Moveribfan and @dr_sivaranjani
My message to food companies is very simple. Improve your products before warning labels expose them.
HEALTH REVOLUTION IS HERE!!!
Adding my support here to GC and the other former international captains. I hope the court ordered medical assessment be allowed to run its course, and that family visits continue. I hope Imran Khan is treated with the dignity anyone deserves
Public anger is mounting in India after @Reuters reported how Big Food lobbying stalled India labelling efforts.
Nestle CEO says company wants India to consult with companies on labelling. Activists say that's wrong.
Since the story was published, consumers and experts have expressed their frustration as likes of Coca-Cola & Nestle have voluntarily put front-of-pack labels in many European markets for years.
Activists say companies should not be consulted in deciding on labelling. "Nestle's call for industry participation in India’s labelling rules is a clear attempt to weaken public health policy," said Dr. Arun Gupta @Moveribfan. "They have used warning labels in Europe since 2013 while their trade bodies fought them in India."
"They are right when they say it would cost more to use healthier ingredients," said @virsanghvi, one of India's best-known food writers, in a column on Thursday. "The prices of their products would go up ... but is that such a bad thing?"
