Reading Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream from @StephenKing's You Like It Darker and this line is just magnificent: "Gossip is like radioactive waste. It has a long and toxic half-life."
How do writers come up with zingers like that, especially so far into such a long career?! Bravo!
@Brighterdayvnl For me it's @aimeemann but boy does it get expensive. Add to that the fact that I'm in the UK and a lot of them are released only in USA. Being a record fan is hard on the wallet!
@GylesB1 A little synchronicity to start your day. I'm reading your Odd Boy Out book (which I'm really enjoying) and last night I read the little bit about My Fair Lady.... and this morning I woke up to discover it's Eliza Doolittle Day!
@pluralvinylpod@Brighterdayvnl I have a few that's I've rebought simply because I forgot I already own them. That's why I've now got all of my albums listed as a note on my phone. They're on Discogs too but all too often I find myself at a record fair in a basement and can't access the Internet to check.
@cazfisher @monstroso @merseytart Sometimes I think it's the publishers rather than the authors that come up with the titles. And I guess they're just gonna be happy with a recognisable phrase that grabs the potential reader and pulls them in.
@Brighterdayvnl I was very confused by the whole customs charge thing when I first started importing records. I'm sure I remember seeing a link on Discogs about what to do if there's a customs charge when there shouldn't have been. It might be possible to claim that customs money back.
