@_OgStu When my oldest was 5, I toasted the garlic bread a bit too dark for his liking. Now anytime I make it, he makes me turn the oven light on so he can watch it. He’s ten.

This third grader scholar is using the checkerboard to multiply a six digit multiplicand and a 4 digit multiplier. This concrete work is one that will lead to abstract multiplication.
