Cooking for Freedom was set up in Dublin in 2017, in response to lack of app. cooking spaces and nutrition provided by the state in DP and emergency accommodation centres, including those for Ukrainian refugees. They current have 2 cooking spaces..

If it wasn’t for this place the info sessions & solidarity dinners hosted by @ramsireland and @masi_asylum which brought together isolated people in direct provision and local communities in Dublin couldn’t have happened. More than a place for gigs, it was a community centre.

We played a huge part in the life of the social centre that once stood here & it played a huge part in ours too. As Seomra, and later Jigsaw, it provided space for so many activists, clubbers and artists away from commercial pressures
