The bridge on the right is the Wakankar Bridge. Since it was getting old, it was decided to construct a new bridge "parallel to it", a standard engineering practice.
However, as per a report by Dainik Bhaskar the new bridge (left) was tilted by 30 to 35 degrees during construction, allegedly going against the approval. This drastic mid-project change was made allegedly to protect private land owned by influential individuals, extending the bridge's length by nearly 100 meters.
This modification has triggered a costly domino effect on local public infra. The new 35-degree alignment now cuts directly through the center of a ₹2.5 crore Smart City parking lot built just four years ago, effectively ruining the facility. Consequently, the Smart City team must now find alternative land to replace the parking space, while the total project cost has climbed to nearly ₹65 crore.
Following the backlash, the Chief Engineer of Setu Nigam has promised an on-site inspection to investigate the revised design and hold the responsible officials accountable.
Was reading about the difference between the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and the National Pension System (NPS). I was surprised to learn how different they are.
Under OPS, a government employee is entitled to a guaranteed lifelong pension (generally around 50% of the last drawn basic pay, as per applicable rules), along with periodic Dearness Relief.
Under NPS, the employee and government both contribute to a pension corpus, but the retirement benefits depend on market-linked returns and the annuity purchased- there is no guaranteed pension amount.
Our CAPF personnel- whether CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB or Assam Rifles- risk their lives every day to protect our nation. Shouldn’t they have certainty and dignity in retirement?

Want to see how biased even the administration can be when it comes to men?A live example from Himachal: Inspector Vijay Kumar, who led the Himachal Police Band Pine of Harmony, has been suspended over a private collaboration.
Now remember the earlier case where a woman police officer openly did a brand collaboration endorsing a fitness company? That ended with just an inquiry and a mere warning .
Same nature of case. Two different standards. Why?
How #Satluj movie backfired
>It exposed people who are supporting Khalistani sympathizers like Jaswant Singh Khalra.
>People are now digging every attack by Kharku terrorists on Hindus and putting it in front of the whole nation.
>Diljit tried to make a saint out of Jaswant Singh Khalra but it completely backfired.
>Whole nation now knows what actually happened with Hindus in Punjab.
>It showed how one sided narratives try to whitewash the killings of thousands of innocent Hindus.
>The real history of Punjab is finally reaching the masses and forcing people to speak the truth.
@NaughtyHimachal@impuni I am more surprised with national heroes ( we considered him once) like @harbhajan_singh . How come he is supporting something which is against India?

Who are you expecting to raise the complaint now? The co-passengers? Or the son who has just lost his mother? This is a case where the Railways should take suo motu cognizance. A tragic incident involving an alleged denial of timely medical assistance deserves an internal inquiry, not just a request for a PNR number.
@AshwiniVaishnaw@PMOIndia@RailMinIndia
@magadh_updates We're concerned to see this please provide the following details coach no ,journey details (PNR / UTS no.) & mobile no, so that we may get it checked. You may also raise your concern directly on https://t.co/JNjgaq1zyT or dial 139 for speedy redressal
A Mother Died. The Train Didn't Stop.
On 12 July 2026, aboard Train No. 12216 Garib Rath Superfast (Bandra–Delhi Sarai Rohilla), a woman lost her life after emergency medical help could not reach her in time.
Co-passengers pleaded with the TTE to halt the train at the nearest station so an ambulance could attend to her. The request was refused.
She died during the journey.
The most heartbreaking part? Her 18-year-old son, who was traveling with her, still believed his mother had only fainted.
A thorough inquiry is needed to determine whether railway staff followed emergency protocols and whether this tragedy could have been prevented.
Who will be held accountable?

Schools should make being proactive the new normal. Bullying is more of a cultural issue than just a disciplinary one. It reflects the values children learn and the environment they grow up in.Schools must foster a culture of empathy, respect, inclusion, and accountability from an early age.. Teachers should be trained to identify early warning signs and intervene before bullying escalates. Parents are an equally important part of the solution. The values taught at home shape how children treat others, so schools and parents must work together. Creating a safe environment is a shared responsibility- students, teachers, parents, and school management all have a role to play.
Bottom line: A proactive culture prevents bullying; a reactive system only deals with its consequences.
Yashpal Sharma, one of my closest friends from the cricket world, left us on this day five years ago.
He was an unsung member from the 1983 World Cup winning team. Never really got the credit for some fabulous performances in key matches.
We miss him 😭
