@Shibani_Shekar That’s interesting. I also believe that we’re taught humility and modesty all wrong as children. It’s not a “brag” to talk about your accomplishments. You can talk about your work and still be grounded/humbled. It’s about finding that balance.
I get caught between saying the “right thing” and being myself sometimes. A lot of times they match but on occasion, it gets a bit tough navigating this. I still have not found how to navigate this. Sigh.
Bangalore never fails to amaze me. The weather is unpredictable yet weirdly comforting. Growing up here, I’ve seen the change in the landscape and environment. I don’t claim this to be the “most perfect city”. But, with all its flaws and imperfections, I love it wholeheartedly.
I’ve been pondering over a very basic question-
What is love?
I’ve scoured Reddit, spoken to a few people. Thought I’d share the answer here-
The answer is “Baby, don’t hurt me. Don’t hurt me. No more.”
Right in the feels.
Rediscovered this song “Beera Beera” from Raavan and the first 1 minute of this song is so brilliant. The slow build up, the gradual change in tune and then the pump of the percussion. What a masterpiece! All hail ARR!
Hate-mongering has become so common these days. There is literally no comment section on any social media where you’ll not see people spewing hate or trying to troll the OP. It is difficult to not get affected by such vile comments. I wonder what influencers do to deal with this.
I love how talking about a common sport of interest helps in bonding. I find that talking about football, basketball or cricket just melts the ice away and helps in creating a connection. If your teams are arch rivals, it’s a match made in heaven. xD
@Shibani_Shekar Everything is narrative. How you present your reality dictates what people will believe. The more it aligns with their fundamentals, the more they buy into that narrative. Misinformation is a currency now. :)
@heydigit i had filed a motor claim through email and WhatsApp hours ago. While the chaynit and auto email response said someone will contact in a “few minutes”. I received no contact or any update on my claim yet. Absolute shitshow of a customer service.
Yes, you gain experience and if you’re a lucky person working in an org that values and recognizes your contributions, well, great job! But we all know most companies don’t give a hoot. As companies scale, how do we keep an employee happy enough to “overperform”?
It’s funny how maintaining your level of performance every year is a bad thing. Corporate views you as an investment who must “compound” YoY. Murakami in 1Q84 mentions how being replaceable adds meaning to our life. Yet we slave and slave everyday in this meaningless abyss.
Address the emotion. If you force yourself to get rid of jealousy, the underlying emotion could manifest in other ways. Seek help or support of people around you or a professional help if it is interfering with your day to day. But don’t let it pass off.
Jealousy is such a twisted feeling. Does feeling jealous make you a bad person? No. Why does it get such a bad rap?
It is considered a negative feeling. But the catch is that there is an underlying emotion that causes you to feel jealous. 🧵
Could be your fear of failure or replacement or anger of not being able to do well in your job. Anything.
If you ever feel jealous, remember to dig deep into what is causing this feeling.
